We are addicted to the internet and to be honest most people these days are. We are addicted to porn because of the internet. The computers, laptops and phones give us an illusion of happiness and safety but once its gone we can't really process easily. So just watch the video. I'm only using my laptop to go on this site. I'm quite sick of how things are.

  2. That was a great video. I agree with everything that he is saying about technology and face to face communication

This is making me think more about the no screen day challenge. They make some good points.

I saw that video couple of days ago.

I use internet very much, but when I've been couple of days without it, I just feel really relieved. It's like a weight has been lifted.

One thing I hate to see, is those god damn smart phones in everyone's hand. I don't own one and don't plan to buy one. I have seen so many of my good friends turning into fucking pussies, who can't or won't keep up with the current social or unsocial situation. They are never present in the moment.

They claim to be social, but that's only online. I've seen them in face-to-face situations many times and they just freeze and whisper to me: "This is awkward" and bada bing bada boom - they pull out the good ol' escape-from-reality-phone.

People have been separated from their natural form, which makes me sick. We eat crap, that doesn't belong in to our bodies. We have taken our lives online. People's egos are so fucked up nowadays. Many people would do anything to get those ego-boosting likes on Facebook.

Humanity has developed so much... Still I can't say, that I'm proud of what we've become. Put your tin foil hats on, because you are being controlled. The power of social acceptance is so strong and internet, smart phones and other shit are here to amplify that and keep us docile. To keep us more easily controlled. To keep us separated from our true selves. To keep us not thinking for ourselves.

My friends and family actually disapprove me quitting porn. Why? Because porn is "normal". Because porn has become a norm in our society just like internet. They disapprove many things I do, because I'm a rebel.

Maybe I should start NoInternet and NoComputer too...

Yeah. The generation of kids that grew up with high-speed internet are really going to have some social anxiety issues. I notice that a majority of my family uses smart-phones and things like Facebook. But the ones that grew up WITHOUT constant exposure (i.e. aunts, uncles, parents who were kids in the '80s) are not as addicted. Yet people like me and my little cousins have all this bright, flashy technology at our disposal. We're constantly exposed to a screen. and that can't be natural. There will probably be studies done 15-20 years from now condemning the ill-effects of Internet addiction.

We're being proactive and taking our lives into our own hands. While it's probably tough to erase YEARS of dopamine abuse, I believe - much like with cancer - nipping the problem in the bud is best.

    Thanks for the video.

I'm also thinking of cutting off the internet. I'm really not addicted to news(papers, broadcasted) and I had no TV as a child ; I stopped video games a while ago.
But what about communities or social network ?*Well, the point is, once a week could be enough for most of them, there is never a major breakdown in 24h, I don't need to check the information.

For a few weeks I've been playing the piano half an hour every day and for a week I've been writing very short stories every day. Get generous habits. Get a damn life.

I'm no example though because the internet distracts me from working. It's funny to say that, but here also I need willpower.

Oh, and guys : one habit at a time, please. It is really the best way. Don't overdream a new life, we need time to recover.

I Think that the real problem is the amount of actions you do while using the internet in any way shape or form. While playing a game especially the fps and real time strategy genre surfing the internet typing text messages etc. We receive vast amounts of information and gradually we become accustomed to having performing dozens to hundreds of actions a minute. Having a normal conversation or reading a book becomes boring. Walking and looking at the scenery around you becomes intolerable. Being still and not doing anything becomes agony. In real life i am incapable of talking to a someone for more than a few minutes. After talking for a few minutes i get bored. Online i can talk to people for hours. Provided i am also doing something else at the time. While walking my dog in the park. After my cigarette is done i want to get back inside and go back in to the internet. I can not even imagine going outside and playing in a park. I feel like i am incapable of ceasing all internet activity including playing video games. What would i do with my time?

    @notafraid

Totally agree with you man!! I was in the cab with a friend of mine and he was constantly looking at his goddamned smartphone. When I asked what he was doing, he said he was trying to install a patch for like the 10th time after uninstalling it. I was like wtf??

I also dont want and dont need a smartphone. I am actually smarter than a phone. I also plan on saving my future kids from falling into internet passtimes and actually spend time with them. But thats a far sighted thought( i am still 17)..

The internet is the root of all of this addiction. Some people would probably still masturbate even without porn but it would be MUCH MUCH lower. The over excitement of sex would be no more and we wouldn't be constantly exposed to this "disease" and not try to find things that are legal but truly dark and disgusting. Laptops and phones are reasons for many terrible things but people can't see the changes because they move so silently. Things have changed for the worse and even if people believe if only a few people don't go on the internet will change nothing. They're completely wrong it opens up so many more opportunities and things to find.
