Mary is an excellent AP. You pray the Rosary every day, and she'll keep you accountable.

I'm making a St. John-Paul II rosary for my wife. Which pieces do you guys like better? The ones in the same picture are hand cast, and need a polish. The ones in separate images are laser cut. 749_new__64995.1430498618.490.588.jpg 9019__51541.1450379606.1000.1200.jpg front view of set.png set back view.png

Praying the rosary is great in many ways. Mary IS a great Ap, it calms you down and it´s a great form of meditation. Jesus-prayer is very useful as well and can be applied any time.

I like the first picture very much.

Allen, I prefer the second set. the Crucifix clearly speaks JPII and the image of our Lady is a subtle nod to his polish roots.

wonder if you mean quit PMO or quit NoFap - your avatar says 'pending deletion'.

praying that you are able to find someone who can be a support for you, whether here or in your local community. it can be difficult to reach out, but that is when we touch the worthwhile stuff. you have started the process, i'm certain that our Great Lover and Him Mother will try to assist you in letting it become a fruitful exercise.

    Peace!!

  8. Hi everyone, I posted this in my journal but wanted to see if anyone had an insight:

I had a strange experience today. I am bombarded with temptation today and thoughts almost as if they were going to take over my mind.
My office is not far from a very nice church, I walked to it, and knelt in front of an Icon of Mary and Jesus.
I am protestant but I prayed "Mary mother of God please help me"

As I walked out of the church I felt a strange sensation go through my body - including my loins but not sexual - its almost as if the Holy spirit was in me and I didn't hear but 'knew' a voice set this body is sacred. it wasn't an out of control sensation like porn or sex but an elevating one. Then I clearly said to myself Mary is the mother of God... I said it plainly and factually - but my belief in it had great power. Then again, silently but clearly I knew as clearly as if someone had said it to me. "you have the armor of light" you can put it on whenever you want.

To me this clearly meant God wont' force me to do anything, but if want the protection from porn and temptation and lust it's there. It made it abundantly clear that it's up to me that it's a choice. if breakdown it's my choice, not something beyond my control. Literally with God's help, I can accomplish this.

I should note I am highly skeptical and not one prone to have these experiences. I am thinking of converting to the orthodox or Catholic faith.

@ivanhoe that is EXACTLY how the Holy Spirit and the Blessed Virgin speak to me! No words, but you know exactly what you're being told. You don't hear the message; you're filled by it. I know exactly what you mean. Yes, the Holy Spirit came upon you today. I have no doubt of it. I have no doubt you felt around 4 lbs lighter than usual as you walked out of the Church. Not floating, just being held up a tiny bit, right?

Very beautiful. I've had experiences similar to that every now and again. Though lately it seems God speaks to me more in images. Not visions or anything sensational. Often it's a memory, or the feeling I got from being in a particular Spirit-filled place. Snippets of that moment will come back to me and inform the present.

Also, any chance we could revive this thread (I apologize to any admins if I bumped it against policy)? I think it's great that the Christian Fapstronauts group is running now, but it's so crowded and I think I've found more helpful companionship and reflection here from you like-minded people.

  14. I have found beauty and connection with God in both of your faiths. Not just superficial beauty, but the kind that connects you with God.
But we're also closer than we think. Dante's divine comedy has a lot of what is considered eastern orthodox theology today.
I'd like to see us all united again, and I still do believe we are still one church.

I have been going through an incredible experiences I have been sharing with AllanTheCowboy I'd be happy to share them here- I have found this thread an inspiration, if it can help one more person as it's helped me I think it's worth nofap's bandwidth :)

A blessed Synaxis of the Archangel Gabriel to our Orthodox posters! Also, a blessed Feast of St. Henry to our Catholic posters!

    Archangel Gabriel, pray for us.
    St. Henry, pray for us.

I agree. Lord willing, we will all be one someday. I have a lot of respect for Catholic faith and devotion, and I think we can strengthen each other.
