Nudity in movies after reboot

I have saw guys say that as they are watching a movie, a nudity scene will most likely come up and for some I have read they can brush it off and move on and others say to avoid movies with nudity.

What are your thoughts on this?

  2. You should avoid any sexual material that would lead to relapse including nude scenes in movies.

If I know there will be nudity in a scene I will skip it or even avoid the movie altogether.

I hate when sex scenes randomly pop up. I always feel like I messed up my progress. But as long as you don't search for sexually arousing material then you don't relapse. If a sex scene pops up then just fast forward or look away. You can't avoid unintentionally seeing something

It's definitely something you have to decide for yourself. Weigh the pros and cons.

Early in a reboot, I would recommend monitoring the movies you watch. Use imdb to check if it has nudity and stay away from it if it does. Avoid sexual material completely for a while in order to let yourself "rewire" as they say.

Afterwards, it's up to you. It may not be worth the effort as you may be completely fine.

i don't understand when people say avoid nudity because you really cant its in a lot of things not just nudity but just triggers im talking about you can not avoid every single one of them forever you have to learn to deal with it i though the same thing when i first started this that i have to avoid sexual things now im thinking its more about self control then anything. im not talking about things you can actually avoid though like P or something like that i would suggest avoiding that because it is an avoidable thing im referring to things in society that really cant be avoided.

I would say... just avoid those movies. I relapsed and binged real bad last time. The trigger was a steamy nude scene in a movie. I was on Day 18 and lost my fight. I fapped crazy after the movie. You just can't control the urges.

Depends. I have saw people say they have controlled intense urges. Unless you are referring to urges triggered by artificial stimuli. But urges during a reboot can be controlled, it's tough but possible

Just happened to me tonight. There's a fine line between art and P, and when your mind is so drawn to finding material to pleasure itself with its best to avoid it if it's a reoccurring problem. I, for one, will be avoiding David Lynch movies from now on.

That's the philosophy I have been struggling with for a while now.
You can't avoid everything in today's society. It's simply not possible unless you want to go live in a rural area with no computers, mail, or TV.

I think as long as you don't go on pornhub, or watch a movie you 100% KNOW there will be sex in tem etc then I think you should be fine.
If you watch something like game of thrones which you highly suspect will sex scenes then I personally would avoid it. Either you're serious about rebooting or you're not.
Your brain doesn't care weather people consider it art or porn. All your brain knows is that there is sexually arousing material that is not a real person I.e. pornography.

Well... it depends. I mean, I'd love to watch Titanic again sometime, as I think it's a great movie. But it does have a nude and a sex scene. That means I'd want to watch it together with somebody else, and if I feel aroused, not use the internet while alone for the rest of the day.
Some things, though, like Game of Thrones, should in my opinion be avoided altogether.

True man. 100% accurate. A person can paint a nude picture and when you see it and stare at it, the brain will get you aroused. And you are right too. It is hard to avoid ALL stimuli. This is why I have said to learn self control. Now if you go watch a movie like "Miss March," "fifty shades of gray" and you know it is nudity then you most likely will face a relapse. Those movies have too much nudity in them. Now if you go watch a movie with a small 10 sec sex scene or intense kissing scene, and you turn your head, or look at it but it does not bother you then you should be fine. As long as after the movie you completely forget the sex scene. If you avoid a sex scene you might as well avoid a kissing scene. I remember looking at a kissing scene and getting hard afterwards, but after the movie that is not what I thought about nor did I PMO. Here is what people need to understand. When we avoid things we become slave to PMO. It means it still has it grip around us. I am not saying go out here and watch movies full of nude so the grip will loosen, I am saying learn self control, enjoy life and do not think about something too much.

Good stuff people. I am rebooting and I feel I cannot just avoid hot females. I tried to abstain but it implies I am afraid of a relapse which means I am just avoiding it for the time being. This leads to every now and then my mind searches for them. If I go for my running, they are there. When I go to gym they are there. When I go to mall they are there. I mean they are everywhere and avoiding doesn't seem to be a solution. So I now decided that I will go once in a while to show myself with places with nice girls. Definitely not a strip club or a beach but decent hangout places. I guess my mind to accept that they are there.

A alcoholic with a few years clean time behind him might be able to sit at a bar with a friend & have a soda. A recovering alcoholic with days, weeks or a few months under their belt shouldn't even think about it.

Having said that, we can't always tell what movie/series is going to have triggering sexual content. I find the best thing is to avoid stuff that is obviously "hot" & apart from that, if I really want to watch a movie & it has a sex scene, I just look away.

One of my favourite movies of all time has zero sex in it, apart from a very short scene where they go into a club & there are a few shots of pole dancers. I choose to watch the movie but look away at that point.

    Each to their own though.

    If in doubt, don't.

imfree131 YOU CAN'T AVOID THEM UNLESS YOU LIVE IN YOUR HOUSE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! It is summer and how they are dressing is almost impossible not to look. Just do not stare and fantasize and you will be fine and overtime you will learn how to do this. And I'mfree131 you might want to go look at my new thread of "slave to porn"

traveller22 you are exactly right, an alcoholic can do that because it does not bother him now. And true because some movies have kissing scenes that can get you horny.

For serious PMO addicts avoid, avoid at all costs especially if you know before hand it is going to in there.

Same like looking at porn subs, it's like a heavy smoker buying a pack of cigarettes, putting it up on his shelf and just staring at it. Not healthy or productive for a serious addict. Just my opinion of course.

I agree tweeby. If you are a serious PMO addict, for now leave it alone. It is like too an alcoholic going to a grocery store during a recovery.

Try to remember that looking at real women is fine and even healthy.
It's porn that causes negative changes in the brain

Once, I watched a horror movie with a bit of nudity and ml scene, not long after I relapsed. It's a powerful trigger, to me at least. Another encounter, I watched another horror movie again got nude and ml scene but I don't indulge it, controlled myself and forgot about that then just continued the rest of the movie, great I didn't relapsed that time. What's play in our minds is the point. If those kind of scenes accidentally shown up, be calm and strong or close your eyes. Many movies got those scenes, I guess audiences like it.
Whatever, just don't fall into the trap.
