My dad was watching porn with my mom on VHS tapes. My mom was dressing up in lingerie for the occasion. That was 30 years ago. I caught them without them noticing.

My wife caught my daughter watching P on her Ipod when she was maybe 10yo. I restricted the wifi usage at the time. Now, 6 years later, there isn't much I can do.

I also got caught by my daughter, when she browsed the history on my desktop. And she noticed that the "smart TV" was storing a thumbnail for each file played on it in the TV's history. So there was laughter in the living room, both the wife and kid were laughing... They summoned me...they were looking at a thumbnail of a BBC video. The ONLY one I watched on that TV, just trying the big screen effect then....

When I told my wife about my use of porn, she was perplexed, and a little concerned, then just a little puzzled ("okay, and... so what's wrong?").

We did talk later and she expressed some concern that people can develop porn addictions and I admitted that I was pretty clear about my own use.

Neither her nor I have and real moral objection to porn, and more than we do to alcohol, peanuts, or shellfish. Some people can have all three and not have a problem. Other people can have their lives slowly destroyed by another. Still other people can die from even an accidental exposure to one of the others.

We ended up agreeing that the problem isn't porn, the problem is me and porn.

My dad is a porn addict just like my husband. He doesn't think he has a problem. I'm 24 right now and when I was super young... maybe 7 or 8 I used to find port all over the computer, garage, my parents closet.. pretty much everywhere. It destroyed my mom's marriage and my dad is still oblivious. My husband just told me tonight that he is choosing to relapse and get a divorce. We have a 4 month old son. I don't know you bit I'm proud that you say you will never watch port again. But honestly that's not my husband's only problem. The past 2 months he hasnt had any problems wantimg to watch porn but he has masterbated everyday multiple times a day for 20 years so his issue has been that. His porn addiction led him to almost blackmail a woman for nude photos while I was pregnant. Mind you, I am a good looking woman who cares too much about appearance. Port is a gateway to much worse things. I'm glad you are getting things under control while your young. Keep going strong and don't give up!

 

Reading this breaks my heart. It is insane what damage PMO addiction can cause and how destructive it can be to marriages and families.

Had a similar thing happen. However, I haven't watched porn continuously for 8 months, but just the act of looking at girls will send me back to porn cravings. It's weird. We just need to stay calm. Let the feeling pass us and move on. The more we give it power, the more it will make us nervous and tense.
