I've seen a number of folks here, who are straight, talk about how they started viewing, and even got attached to, gay porn.

To be honest, this blows my mind.

I'm same-sex attracted. My porn consumption, for over 35 years, has been 99% gay. The one percent is the first porn I saw, and whatever straight stuff I saw occasionally over the years.

To be clear, I'm not being critical, or making light of people for whom this is a terrible trial. I'm just flabbergasted. I am someone who wished a girl did it for me, but alas. So I am amazed, andconfused, by the idea that a straight guy an get into gay porn.

I'd love to hear from someone who has experienced this.

It has to do with sensitization, after watching tons of vanilla or straight porn a user needs something more um "hard" to get them hard, and so this explains why a lot of straight guys go into watching gay porn, or vice versa.

To be fair though some of them are actually just attracted to it and don't want to admit it, I'm not going to use words like "gay" or "bisexual" to describe these folks, there is a lot of grey and so perhaps they only find certain aspects of it appealing (ie BJ's)

It's about comedy. Watching a man lick another man's bung hole is hilarious!

    Ha Ha Ha!!!!

Well, I'm into guys, and I consumed a LOT of gay porn; I never got where I started looking at straight porn.

Any other gay guys here -- did you ever look at straight porn because gay stuff bored you?

Again, I'm not being critical, I'm just surprised.

I also looked sometimes gay porn. But not everything. The point is, that not all people are 100% straight or gay.
But we don't admit it. Maybe we don't want to live it. But yes, a boy may look attractive also to me. Where is the problem?

Well, I am not speaking of a "problem," just my own confusion, which I'm trying to address.

See, I can understand people who say, as you did, that they aren't 100% straight or gay. I get that. That needs no explanation.

What I find puzzling is if someone says, I'm straight, but I look at gay porn. Maybe what you're saying (not to put words in your mouth) is if someone looks at gay porn, and likes it, they aren't really 100% straight. OK, that's one explanation.

However, I think you'll find there are people who will dispute that. I've read some of the threads about "HOCD," and the folks who experience it say over and over, I'm not even a little gay -- why am I looking at gay porn? So they, themselves, would not accept that they, themselves, are less than 100% straight.

Which brings me back to my wanting to understand this more: if someone is 100% straight, how does that person even enjoy, or get a rise out of, gay porn? As I said about myself: I'm pretty much same-sex attracted, and straight porn never did a thing for me, even in my worst porn-wallowing period.

I think it depends on the person. I'm not "disgusted" by gay P, I'm just not interested. Everytime I surf the web looking for P there's some gay stuff on the way or popping out and I just don't click on it. I've watched porn since I was 14 or 15 (I'm 28 now) and I've always looked for girls with the same traits or fetishes. So maybe I'm not THAT bored of "normal" P, and that's probably the reason why straight guys choose to watch gay P

Why is this even an issue and why is it so important for some people here to have to put a label on everyone. Everyone is unique. If a "straight" guy looks at "gay" porn, does that make him gay? Is that the label you want to put on them. Would your world be better if more people just admit they are gay? I have a feeling that is the conclusion of the OP. In the words of Sir Hillary Clinton....what difference does it make? I'm 16, have watched both gay and straight porn, webcammed with girls and guys, done more stuff in real life with girls, than guys, but have had guy experience. Does that make me gay? bi? "Not straight"? Again, who cares and what is the point of this post in the first place. Don't label me. I don't want to be part of some group, predefined by some know-it-all.

I'm not labeling you or anyone and I haven't offered any criticism. I'm asking a question because I want to understand better. Why is that bad?

If it's a question that doesn't interest you, that's fine. Surely you don't intend to silence other people from asking questions they are interested in?

You don't sound just "curious" IMO. You just seem like you are on some cause or agenda....or worse, trolling for suggestions on why others liked to watch gay porn. Hopefully that's not how you want to get your thrills.

I've read many cases where guys escalate, from looking at vanilla porn and then to transgendered person or gay porn. It has never happened to me and it is rather curious to say the least. So you question is valid.

Again we have to question if these people are in some sort of denial, but reading further and digging deeper it just doesn't make any sense. These people swear they are straight and since they are on an open anonymous forum it shouldn't really matter admitting this. They also swear to looking and getting off to straight porn for years on end and only after a lot of porn consumption have they wandered into different areas.

I really think this is a novelty factor, which happens when you cross the line and are using porn excessively. There have been known cases of gays escalating to straight porn, and it is a known fact that lesbians regularly watch gay porn (man on man porn) to get off. It's something to do with the fact that most lesbian porn is made for straight guys and isn't real.

In short, its a problem to do with crossing the line of taboo and sensitivity. I mean I remember I could get off to girls in just their underwear but now I find myself only getting off to girls getting analized or other such things which I won't describe as I don't want to trigger anyone, because it is so common in porn.

Like I said you could make a case for these people being in denial but it just doesn't make much sense.

Well, I don't know what I'm supposed to say to allay your suspicion. I've tried to lay out my own thoughts and question as plainly and fairly as I know how. You haven't identified anything specific I've said or done that is wrong. It seems like you're accusing me of something, and putting the burden on me to prove I'm an innocent man. Shouldn't it work the other way? Shouldn't you have to show how I'm doing something wrong?

Since I'm an addict, and I've acknowledged I like gay porn, is it possible I have mixed motives? Sure, but I don't think so. And to be clear, I am NOT asking anyone to give graphic answers, or to describe favorite scenes, or anything like that.

Thanks for your thoughts. You make a lot of sense.

I'm not inclined to explain this phenomenon with only one explanation. People are all different. As I said, it makes sense to me that some people have a mixture of attractions, even if mostly one way or the other; so no further explanation needed there. And, sure, some people are likely "in denial," so that is a sufficient explanation in *some* cases.

But I don't think that explains it all.

Never happened to me. I have been looking at all kinds of weird stuff, but some things always repulsed me and men on men is among them.
Still I have no problem looking at naked men and in fact would have liked them to have a bigger role and talk more, instead of trying to leave the stage to the women and being boring.
It probably has to do with kids being influenced to see gayness as nothing wrong or weird and so they watch it as another sexual novelty. This sexual novelty is what the addicts mind gets off to, rather than the actual content according to the dopamine theory.

Just seems weird to me that you want to know what kind of porn other people here watch, and why. Shouldn't you be focused on your own porn habits, vs. being curious about others? It is just a big red flag to me. I think you are trolling this topic for your own thrills.

There's also a small cross section, that don't use porn to get off but rather reduce anxiety. A HOCD sufferer is caught in a bad place because they test themselves, where they look at straight porn and then gay porn and try to masturbate to see if they are gay or straight. The truth is once you have an erection and you keep stroking it regardless of what you are looking at you're likely to come.

HOCD sufferers cite porn usage as a means of anxiety reduction, but the opposite is true, as it only increases your anxiety and paranoia after you've finished.

Like I say, very odd and completely counter-intuitive, but the more research you do into stuff like this, the more you learn.

@brandon relax, he's not trolling or getting anyone to admit they are closet homosexuals or looking for descriptive examples to get off, he's just interested in the whys. You sound like you got a bee in your bonnet. No one is labelling you. Only you know yourself.

I'm 16m and I've watched both straight and gay porn. Also me and another another friend (a guy) have been on his webcam together and watched other guys, and sometimes girls, on webcam. Some were our age and some were adult. Thats probably about the "weirdest" or "gayest" thing I've done as an addict, but I don't think it is wrong. I don't really consider myself gay either, even though Ive been naked with my friend on webcam watching others. I've done more stuff with girls in real life, so if you have to label me I'm more straight than gay. I hate labels though. Labels aren't inclusive and are discriminatory. Before you can discriminate against someone, you first must give them a label. Leave me out of that hate.

Yes, I wouldn't call you gay or even bi because of that. It probably had more to do with curiosity and is hard to avoid the way some of those video chats are set up.
I don't see gay, bi, .. so much as a label, but rather a name for the sake of convenience. It is one word instead of a paragraph to describe things.
Also people exchange experiences and are curious, nothing wrong with that in my opinion, especially with some anonymity. There are bigger fish to fry.

I'm not really asking about the porn; I really do not not not want to hear about what porn someone is looking at. The question I'm asking factors that in! What I'm asking is, why? I'm interested in people sharing -- if they wish -- what's going on in them.

This site is full of people telling their stories; I've told mine. If people want to tell part of theirs in this thread, I'm grateful. If they would rather not, they don't have to.

Brandon, just shut up will you? Septimus is a cool guy and he has no 'agenda'. As he is a gay man, I can understand why he finds it hard to understand HOCD. Let's face it, everyone that has HOCD is bloody confused by it. He just wants clarity.
