    Hi everyone !

So I've managed to stay clean for 65 days ! Just to make things clear, I was only addicted to masturbating when I started this challenge. I had quit porn over a year ago. Anyway, I was recently asked how I managed to resist for 60 days ! (RECORD). So I thought I'd share some of these points.

Here are ten steps you can follow:

    1. Avoid seeing or touching your balls/dick/prostate as much as possible. Only handle it when necessary, e.g. to take a piss.

2 Ignore your hard ons. It may feel impossible, but it's not. Over time your body will adapt to your changes and you won't get these random hard ons.

    3. Avoid walking around naked. I love walking around my place naked, or even while I'm sitting by the computer. Unfortunately being naked triggered my thoughts and actions numerous times. So if you're like me, don't strip.

    4. Have SHORT showers. That's right. I use to have 10-15 minute showers, most of the time I'd focus most of my attention on my dick. All you need is literally one minute to have a quick wash. Even better have cold showers.

    5. Follow your passion. Since stopping, I've being extremely active in my career and hobbies. I'm SUPER creative, and I've come up with so many great ideas. Seriously I'm working on a really good idea now that has potential. Exciting times ahead!

    6. EXERCISE! This is a good opportunity to improve your fitness level ! Burn as much fat as you can at the gym. You will definitely feel a lot fresher. If you can, do it at night, so you go to bed tired.

    7. Be STRONG. Don't give into your temptations. At first it may feel impossible. But seriously, once you reach fifty days, you don't wanna look back.

    8. NO massages. One of the things I use to love doing is going to asian centres to get massages from top to bottom. This would give me major hard ons every time, and masturbation was really tempting. Definitely a NO NO.

    9. Break down your weeks. 60 days sounds like it's a lot. But really, every week, I just break it down, and look at the challenge as a weekly challenge. e.g. Aim for Sunday! When I'd get to Sunday I'd say the same thing over and over, until my body completely adapted to the cycle.

    10. Don't fantasise. Seriously, it will just torture your sex drive, and you'll be going around in circles.

Well that's it guys. I hope these points help your journey. I'm feeling so refreshed, I'm seriously a brand new person. Don't give up, you won't regret it ! Many times I use to feel like I was a complete drug addict that needed to be strapped to a bed. If you think it's impossible to conquer your urges, believe me IT'S NOT !

    All the best !

Ignoring hard ons will be difficult. I will try your advice. This is not going to be easy, I can tell I'm in for some rough times.

    Hello Challenge,

Thank you for your very, very good informations. I haven't been masturbating for over 30 days, but I get 3 to 4 times a day a hardon. I can ignore it but it is not easy. I liked to sleep naked, but with a boxershort on it is easier not to get horny.

Great post. I personally am trying to quit porn (over 60 days now) but have not managed to stop the Fap. Usually only 1-2 a week, but I'm really trying to focus on the porn only. Maybe after a year or so of no porn I'll try your method of not fapping. I liked the way you broke it down.

I have also problems with porn. I don't watch the clips- but I am still interested in what is new on my two favorite sites. I have no interest watching the porn-clips anymore, but something is still in the brain that prevents cutting every connection to porn. :-(

Yes ignoring hard ons is the hardest part! Your body has become so adapted to masturbating, that it wants your full attention. That's when SELF DISCIPLINE kicks in. Many times I felt frustrated because all I wanted to do was whip it out and milk it. Every time you ignore it, you're one step closer, after a while your body will give up and follow your cycle. DON'T let your urges control you. YOU control your urges. @Berlinbaer : I know exactly what you mean about that porn craving. That's why they're always releasing new material, to just feed that never ending hunger. Might be hard but don't give up. Don't let the system beat you.

    Hello Challenge,

that is an important aspect with the new material. Now I realize that the only sites I am still interested in are these sites which have every 2 or 3 days new material. Other sites with longer intervals for new stuff are not interesting for me since I started no POM. Until now I can resist to watch or download porn-clips. I hope I am strong enough to ignore the last two sites I look for new stuff. Many thanks!

My biggest issue is with fantasizing, they come in my head unwelcome and like to stay for a while. I hope those start going away later in the reboot, until then I just try to move beyond them. Two more days and I'll beat my personal record =)

    @Berlinbaer

Have you tried using K9 protection on your computer?? That's a good start to porn recovery. If you can't trust yourself with the password, and you think you'll keep on restarting it, I suggest you find someone close to you and give them the password. Otherwise you'll just keep on going back to beginning. Be Strong, don't let your urges beat you.

    Hello challenge,

I have the protection- but I am so curious that I break it. So it is a good idea to beg a friend for help hiding the password. Actually I have no urge to watch the clips, I am strong enough. But the almost daily new stuff makes curious. It is an evil thing of the pornsite owners to keep people curious of their offers. :-(
Many, many thanks for your help and your tips! :)

@Berlinbaer your welcome! Yes curiosity is a dangerous thing. How about being curious of what's it like to live a masturbate/porn free life ???!

I don't masturbate since 34 days. And I don't watch porn to get horny. Tt feels better than before (except the first five days- these days were very bad). So you are right- there schould be no reason to look for new stuff on pornsites. I think the lustfull memories of porn are still present in the brain. But you are right- I should fix more on the better sex without masturbation and fantasies fired by porn, that I am more quiet and more concentrated now. I am sure I am strong enough to cut the last connections to porn. Thank you!

If lustful memories of porn are still present in your brain, you need to distract yourself as much as you can with other activities. Also I'm not suggesting to just focus on better sex. If you're married, great, then that's a different story. But if you're single, with no partner, forget about sex. Concentrate on relationships, try and find someone you want to marry. THEN later down the track think about sex. Don't try and find a sex partner just for the sake of releasing your steam. I think you need a complete break from sex altogether to re-wire your brain. If you jump straight into sex with porn images still fresh in your mind, you'll just be re-fuelling those fantasies. But by having a complete break from sex, and focusing on relationships, you'll regain your sex drive the way it's meant to be. This is hardcore mode, which you don't have to follow, but in the long run it will help you and your future partner. Also here's an article I recommend reading if you haven't read it yet. http://boldanddetermined.com/2011/10/24/how-to-harness-your-sexual-energy/

    Hello Challenge,

I am gay and I have a very good friend for 3 years, we have sometimes sex (2 to 3 times a month), but that is not the first thing. Before stopping masturbation I only could get horny with porn-fantasies in the end. About two weeks after stopping masturbation we had a lot of fun without porn-fantasies. I was only focussed on his and mine body. So I think that is okay. I do sports, I learn assembler programming, I build paper models. I followed your advise to give the K9-password a friend. So today I couldn't look for new stuff. And until now I don't miss anything. Maybe that is because of the very fine weather and I walked 5 km's around the lake. You are right- it is good to do anything that distracts from porn and sex. The days without masturbation are no problem for me until now. So I am sure the rest of porn-fantasies also will get out of my mind.

Awesome! I had 7 days then relapsed then went back full speed into fapping after spending 3 days in my addiction I'm back to day one. Going to use some of these tips plus meditation and yoga.

    Great list of recommendations, challenger.

I resonate particularly with the items about resisting the urge to fiddle with your junk, and avoiding excessive fantasizing.

The pleasurable feelings created from fiddling can be addictive, and run the risk of spiraling into full-blown MO if not tempered. I know this all too well; every relapse I ever experienced since starting Rebooting was always preceded by a week of regular fiddling. Genital massaging/fiddling has been a pastime of mine since the young age of seven. This was long before I started to develop my taste for women; I just enjoyed the physical rubbing sensations.

So, as a precautionary measure, for the beginning of this current Reboot, of which I am still doing strong at, for the first week I placed an elastic band around my wrist and drew it back and snapped it painfully every time I gave into the sweet temptation of fiddling. It worked. In previous failed attempts, I'd always hit a period of unbearable cravings about a week in. This time, no. There was a period of very strong cravings about two days later (triggered by Monty Python and the Holy Grail of all things) but I was able to deal with it.

As to fantasizing, this can also be a killer. Although I fantasize about my friend's sister, and not P actresses, the fantasies still sometimes reaches P-level extremes. I started doing this about thirty days into my Reboot. By this time I had achieved a mindset where I was simply not going to give in and touch my junk, because I knew that intense fantasy + fiddling would only lead to pandemonium and undo all that hard work. Nevertheless, I found myself unconsciously trying to O without any touching, just by flexing the PC muscle. While having not yet formally relapsed, this is still danger zone stuff. It caused heavy pre-cum secretion.

Compulsive fantasizing has been the toughest nut to crack for me. My brain is expert at coming up with all kinds of rationalizations for this behavior; such as the need to practice for the real thing, to improve my testosterone levels, to calibrate my brain to get excited by regular fantasies rather than P fantasies, etc.
