    Helpful, thank you.

I am particularly encouraged by the delineation between drug addiction (material addiction) and behavioral/emotional addiction (immaterial addiction) in terms of less (if any) permanent physical addiction to brain plasticity.

Also many thanks for revealing the fundamental aspect of addiction for us being addiction to dopamine response.

This post is a Terrific resource for all of us.

Also, I thought that the post that prostrate (prostate?) made had a useful tactic in posting "truths" about porn in list form.

One thing I realized this morning is the following "truth" that I'd add to my own list.

First list item on my truth about porn.
    - Porn has altered my perception of women and relationships. My perception of intimacy with woman is poisoned so deeply by sexual objectification, that I am not simply a user of porn, but I have fundamentally become a user of women. simply put I am user of human beings as a fix for sexual/dopamine gratification.

    Fuck that.

This is something so hard wired into me since puberty, that I realize I have had extremely few significant romantic and deeply intimate experience that allowed someone to access me for who I truly am, and vice versa.

    Fuck that!!!

That is unethical behavior that would never stand in any other aspect of my life, and I steadfastly refuse to continue to unwittingly play along while my pursuit of dopamine turns me into a lonely people using monster.

Thanks again Kurapika, and thanks for the listing prostate!

Feel free to add to the truth list or start your own (or maybe I'll start a truth thread if it's a good idea? I'm new to forum protocols..)

This is amazing information, thank you!

I also have some other neurological symptoms due to PMO addiction for years, such as visual snow (including floaters and light sensitivity), tinnitus, and chronic fatigue.

All of these are very real symptoms that I know where caused by my PMO addiction, as I am medically healthy.

I've successfully abstained from PMO for about 2 months now, and even though there were some days in which most of my symptoms were significantly improved, there are still some other days in which they're back in full force. Is this normal? And how long do you think my recovery will take?

    Thanks!

Amazing post. Thank you so much for this. For the first time in over 20 years I now feel the bud of hope and believe I can get my life back. I have lost everything including the love of my life to porn and dopamine but I'm gonna fight this f***er now! Thank you again!

wow I loved this post. But how do we know everything in it is 100% accurate? That's the issue, there simply isn't enough clinical trials and/or research into the matter.

Can you tell me how long it will take for me to see an improvement in concentration. I have been fapping for 4 years to high speed internet porn

  12. Maybe I'll gather the determination and persistence required to research and write a long post like this in the near future given that there has been a flood of peer-reviewed research articles published on porn addiction in those five years.

  13. It's also amusing and funny now to see that I decided that this is valuable and even put that in the title. Time changes us much I think : )

you put a lot of time into researching this. do your fetishes get eradicated once you do nofap for a long time?
i'm worried since the urges keep coming back after a while and seems like there's nothing i can do about it..

*the normal urges im ok with, it's the porn induced weird ones that bother me.

  16. @cresyhorse From the anecdotal evidence we have here of people who stopped for long periods of time, the porn-induced fetishes seem to fade away with time but the required time will vary.
