    Leo,

I got 33 days to Morning Glory a while back and I going to do the consecration this year on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (which happens to be my birthday)..

Also, I wear the Brown Scapular. Since devoutly kissing it when making a morning offering (Marian formula) I've had many graces in this battle. Heavenly help is awesome.

With sisterly love to you all x

    M L,

That's awesome. I did the Consecration a few years back, so I am now under the care and protection of Mary. She has probably kept my faith alive and maybe my body and soul too throughout the addiction. I also where the Brown Scapular! I thought I was the only one other than the religious to do it. That's great. Your doing wonderful, pray for me please. I need it terribly. I'll pray for u and all on here. Gob bless u sister, Brother Leo

Ze'ev I didn't personally read that book but read the other one for women and found it to be great. My husband read the book about marriage and it helped him quite a bit. To each their own. It is always a gamble finding resources or books that speak to your heart so I certainly take no offense!

I also watched some great videos by pastor Mark Driscoll....definitely check him out!

Very true. That's a good point. Headedup, thanks for your general support. What I mainly meant was that some of my theology is admittedly not fully in line with church teaching. I am still working out what that means to me and my journey, but in the meantime, take my thoughts with a grain of salt, like anyone else's. :D

    Welcome Limeaid,

It's very good to have another woman on here, especially one who has been on the other side of this "wife of former addict". I feel horrendously awful when I think of what my addiction has done to my wife. What a warrior you are. I don't know if u understand this addiction. I know u can't feel it....I mean what it's like to possess it. Nothing of what you are or nothing of what u have done caused this in your husband's past. This is a personal addiction and it means something different in each of us. We all hate it as I'm sure you're husband did too. I just want u to know none of this was your fault and this is a son of a bitch to overcome, much harder than overcoming heroine or cocaine I've read. My respect goes to you and your husband. God bless you sister, brother Leo

Great! I am Catholic and my faith is very very important to me. I want to follow God's commands and I know that with his love and mercy I can triumph over the sin.
    Blessings to all.

    Welcome Yongui98!

You are right. Love and Mercy is God's way. He doesn't want this in us greater than we don't want it. At some point we need to step up to the plate and surrender ourselves to His love and mercy, seeking Him above all instead of our wretched addiction. God forgives but we can never give up this fight. Praying for u and all, brother Leo

I made a pilgrimage today to the tomb of my country's first Saint. I prayed for you all at Mass and commended you to her intercession. That Mass with a heap of strangers really made real the communion of saints for me..

Great resources everybody. I'm going to try to compile the more PMO/sexuality related ones into my post on the first page, as more get added to the thread. And M L, ha ha, I hadn't realized you were planning to do the same consecration. It's great.

Here's another source for fighting pornography in the context of families. So to all of you who are married or single parents, this may be a helpful source.

    Greetings everyone!

I will add you all the my evening prayers.

Something like this is a bad addiction that really keeps you away from God.

I actually stopped praying for a few years before bed and instead would PMO despite being tired.

Hoping to increase my faith back again and end this addiction while I am still young.

I want to leave this in the past now that I am a young adult it's time I start acting like one.

    All the best to everyone!

    Welcome cl5k12!

You are so right, it does keep us away from God. God loves us but hates our sin. He is a very loving, forgiving, and sacrificing God. He sacrificed Himself for us. We all should be forever grateful. God gives us the ultimate comfort and fulfillment. We should never forget this.

This is your time friend. Keep posting everyday, it looks like ur off to a good start.

    God Bless, Brother Leo

Thank you for the warm welcome Leo!

I am 14 days clean. Feeling good. Only problem is the weather shift it's had an effect on my mood/energy but it will pass.

I wish you all the best! Now that we have this forum thread going, I am sure we will all be able to keep being clean. :)

Hello everyone. Thanks for starting this thread. I'm a Catholic (I lean to the east though if that makes sense).

Devotion to Mary is very helpful in this battle. I recommend 3 hail Marys first thing in the morning and entrusting the battle to Jesus through her intercession, it's very helpful.

I also recommend the Jesus prayer throughout the day and especially in the times when danger of failing. "Lord Jesus Christ son of God have mercy on me a sinner" slowly, internally, with intention, repeat.
