Re-booters in the UK - cultural attitudes making Nofap recovery difficult?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Dave G 123, Aug 8, 2019.

  1. Ah I see. It is a big financial capital, so that could be the case. In recent years, people trafficking has increased a lot apparently.

To some extent, yes. It does make it difficult. How many shows on TV have sex/nudity on it these days? It's a lot more common. If there's any UK broadcaster that's the worst offender for it in normalising this, I would say it has to be Channel 4.

  3. I believe that Channel 4 is basically one of the corporate arms of the BBC. Might be wrong though.
As a society, we do need to be careful to not just go with the flow, but also think of repercussions down the line, especially with major broadcasters as opposed to the rather cheap pornography industry.

Like the BBC and ITV, it is a PSB (Public Service Broadcaster), but Channel 4 was brought on-air to bring more innovative and thought provoking television programmes. That ITV and the BBC wouldn't have dared done, or have been allowed to. In pushing social boundaries, of which Channel 4 has been so well-known for shocking or surprising viewers. With some brilliant yet equally bad programmes. I don't watch this show, but Naked Attraction is one show that does it in such bad taste.

  5. Yeah I'll avoid that show!

It's not just TV broadcasters who make rebooters for us Brits difficult. Peoples' sexuality is thrown at our faces on publications like magazines and newspapers. Take The Sun and The Daily Star for example, who are notoriously bad for objectifying women.

Yeah likewise and avoid like the FUCKING plague!

  8. Catering to base desires. It sells. Luckily, I never even look at those publications.

Yeah, being evasive is key to recovery. Especially if you’re aware of what can trigger urges and/or relapses.
