I work for a trucking company and our yard is a bit off the main road. Some guy was waving me down in the middle of the road. I walked over and he yelled "I'm druuuuuunk and need a ride home". I figured what the hell and had him get in. After about twenty minutes of trying to figure out where he lived due to the fact he could hardly speak, his wife called. I grabbed the phone and got his address. On the way over he started telling me how good of a person I was and how God was going to help me because nobody should give a guy like him a ride home. Not that it matters but he had to be one of the wealthiest dudes in town due to the value of his home. Totally surreal experience for a non religious dude like me. lol when he first answered the phone for his wife he told her he was in the middle of an orgy and he'd call back when he was done, epic.

God can talk to you through anything. However, that does not mean that He did talk to you through this man. Might just be a drunk guy being drunk.

  3. Drunk guy being drunk, but we can always learn from experiences. Good job in helping him.

  4. According to your counter you are on day 32. That's the usual grace period after the Lord starts intervening in your life, when you in fact stopped sinning by masturbating to porn. You don't have to know God to get the benefits of drawing closer to Him by living godly. He is there even for non-religious people.

As a Christian I think the drunk guy was a first trial and you passed it with flying colors. So I wouldn't entirely dismiss his statement. This guy here is wondering as well, why a month into his streaks stuff starts going well for him:

    It's the same cause.

What you did was a great deed and I am sure god will reward you because of it.

  7. Well, I think so far this is the best and most logical response.

We can learn from ANY interaction we have with others, positive or negative, minor or major lessons can be learned.

It's been my observation that the weirder the experience, the more there is to learn. This one was certainly an odd one. Thanks for sharing!

You should never depend on horizontal revelation, which is what occurs between the drunk person and you. That’s what we call a cult, and it’s an extremely dangerous mentality to have.

Instead, you should depend on feeling the presence and the affirmation of God as you reflect upon someone’s words; that’s the vertical revelation that you should depend on. We like the Bible because we felt God’s spirit as we read it, not because people told us to.

But God has interesting ways of picking His spokespeople, so I would never say that a drunk man won’t ever become God’s mouthpiece. But once again, the affirmation of God should be followed, not the man himself.

Personally, I believe God can communicate with us, whether verbally through literal words, or through experiences in life. But what God might reveal to you may be different than to another person, not because God’s inconsistent but because we’re all different with differing needs at differing times.

Biblically speaking If he can talk to you from a donkey why not from a drunk guy.

  13. I almost missed the ending of the story. Hahaha this is great!

To answer your question: yes. God uses bushes, stuttering fools, donkeys, large fish, prostitutes, demon possessed women, etc.

Makes you realize How awesome A True God really is.

  14. God does amazing things in such werid ways, faith is on the move without even realizing it.

Read about the story of the good Samaritan. No good deed will go unrewarded, even if its to a drunk guy. Good on you mate

  16. I think God can speak to us through anyone and any circumstance. Whether or not He did in this event is between you and God. I remember one time when I felt God had spoken to me through someone. I was driving downtown with the girl I was seeing and her friend. Previously I had all off these interior feelings about my relationship with this girl and how I was noticing red flags but ignoring my conscience in order to keep the relationship going. In short I wasn’t being myself but rather what I thought she wanted. The night this incident happened was the first time I had met her friend and as we were all talking on the drive downtown she out of nowhere stays “you’re losing your soul just to be with her”. To have a stranger make a statement which directly hit the crux of my interior feelings shocked me deeply. So much so I’ve never forgotten it.
