What's the deal with hangovers from alcohol causing extreme sexual arousal?

Ya I can relate to this like on the dime, I have no idea but when I drink moderaly heavy for like two/three days in a row my drive just spikes like incrediblely high. No idea why thought would be worth doing some googling though.

 

When you're hungover you feel like shit and masturbation and sexual arousal help you ignore that. Masturbation and sex arousal is like taking morphine.

I remember having read a very interesting case study of a young schizophrenic that was observed to masturbate very frequently and was not communicating with staff. At one point a psychologist or psychiatrist or nurse, don't really remember, caught him masturbating again and asked him point blank - why do you do it. And he said "Because my tooth ache, why the f% do you think i'd masturbate?". He was referred to a dentist, his tooth ache resolved and his masturbation stopped. It's interesting because as a schizophrenic he lacked the capacity to focus and communicate what his problem is but he instinctively found a "solution" for it.

This goes to show that masturbation is a very potent pain reliever (analgesic).

 

Alcohol like any other drug causes hypofrontality. Pornography consumption causes it too. In the case of hypofrontality, there literally is reduced blood flow to the upper part of the brain and this kind of takes the brakes off of your behavior. It can trigger some really serious temptations. Most pleasurable things will cause this, any type of drug will. Hypofrontality means little self-control. It will make you want to drink or masturbate even more, take more drugs, whatever situation you are in it creates this kind of vicious circle making you want more that is hard to get out of. Being high on porn is just another sort of being drunk. It causes the exact same thing: reduced blood flow to the rationalizing; human part of your brain, redirecting the blood to the 'primal' core of your brain, which couldn't care less about the outcome of your bad decisions. It's that little devil on one of your shoulders so to speak.
If addiction persists, this is the number one cause of grey matter loss in the brain's neocortex. It has been seen in both hard drug and sex addicts alike. MRI, spect and cat scans of cocaine and porn addicts are actually quite similar which is just utterly scary if you ask me. It does explain a lot.

Hangover is basically a depression, when you are depressed you wan to correct that, correcting that means doing things that boost your mood.
Then its all up to what ever behaviors you learned that help you improve mood. Alcoholics just drink more and problem is solved, they feel good again.

Anything that gives you pleasure immediately impacts your mood, and you no longer feel the depression.
So this strong urge you feel is simply a natural response to being depressed, but you developed unhealthy ways to deal with depression, this means anytime you are low - you jump to this behavior.
Urge is the same for everyone, drug addicts go get the drug to feel better, alcoholics go get few beers, porn addicts go for a "spin"

 

I couldn't do well at all with NoFAP while i was drinking still, personally. So i made the tough decision at 27 to stop drinking. THIS WEEK IM 1 YEAR SOBER!
Although i have yet to fully remove porn this last year was hands down my most successful abstaining. There are other factors to contribute to that but booze, oh man booze would destroy all my hard work on a regular basis leaving me completely demoralized.
