Do you consider fanfiction as porn?

Ok, so...I have been reading fanfiction for more than 10 years, and romantic comics that may have sexual content, I have never seen a problem with it. What is actually strange to me is that people M to that, Actually I learned about that some months agos and it shocked me!
Now I'm reading here a lot of people claiming how bad fanfictions are and how they are actually P and that it is so bad that you shouldn't do it at all.
Do you consider fanfics as P? Why? Is it actually P if you read it like any other novel?

Really the problem began when people got the ability to search and find something else they found sexual arousing anytime they wanted (high speed internet) Every time you think about searching something that sexually arouses you dopamine is released, every time you search something that sexually arouses you dopamine is released, and every time you find something that sexual arouses you dopamine is released. So when you continuously keep searching more each time you do this more dopamine is released. This is the reason why people constantly want to search more and more, having multiple tabs open flicking back and forth between them all. What happens when you do this on high speed internet is your brain keeps constantly releasing more and more dopamine in the brain, raising it to abnormally high levels in the brain, levels the brain was never designed to be able to deal with. This couldn't be done before high speed internet, which has only been going since around 2006. This is the reason why sexual dysfunctions practically didn't exist in young men until high speed internet came along.

Also note that dopamine is actually at it's highest right before sex, higher than what it is during sex. It's a seeking neurotransmitter, it highly motivates you to do something. So every time you think of searching something new on the internet that turns you on dopamine is released. But the thing with high speed internet is there is never ending sexual content, so you keep searching more and more, which basically causes the brain to reach abnormally high levels of dopamine in the brain. More dopamine than the human brain was designed to be able to handle.

I can undestand you, but you could say I have been a dopamine seeker before I got internet haha. Funny, right now I have about 20 tabs opened simultaneously, neither of them with sexual content though.
So, what is a good advised to stop this? I see this is also related to the social media adiction some young people has, I have read that at least. Have never linked to other stuff though.
So, let's say I stop fanfiction, even internet at all to stop realising dopamine. I will look for another ways to get that dopamine, I always have. How is that gonna help me?
Wow did not knew about dopamine being higher bfore sex, that's explain why I want to move on to another thing the moment sex starts haha

You seem to have a misunderstanding here. Dopamin is not the devil. It's a necessary neuro chemical. It's not about stopping dopamin release. You would literally die of laziness, if you could stop it alltogehter.

The issue is the insane amount we release. Good luck trying to reach dimiliar highs by working out or something. It probably will never happen.

So the baseline is: Dopamin is very important. But we get bombarded with way too much by our porn and/or internet habits.

I got it from investigating to. Actually, I am doing that right now. All I need is a new subject to spend my time with? The bad thing is that some stuff come with cortisol too while fanfiction do not. I have got great amounts of dopamine reading books too or watch animes or series. Should I stop reading books?

I do consider fanfiction as P. I used to use both "mature" fanfiction and similar online stories to PMO.
What do you mean "any other novel"? Does the story have sexual content? If so, then, yes, to me it's P, or at least a P-sub.
No, just be careful and find clean books (there actually are plenty of those out there).

My rule of thumb is, if you feel the need to ask, then the answer is most likely that you should stop whatever it is. But dropping books altogether isn't really a good approach, books are amazing things <3 If you're unsure of the content, you can always do a little research on the title beforehand.

Dopamine is a seeking neurotransmitter that motivates you to do things. After eating sex is the most natural reward, and it raises dopamine higher than anything else that's natural. Reproduction, it's one of the most important things in life. Humans love novelty and seek novelty, something new. In the wild this love for novelty would make sure any willing feeling would not go unfertilized. Basically when a male mammal has sex with a female it gets bored of that female quite quickly, but when it see's a new female that's novelty, the dopamine rises higher for the new female and the reproduction continues. It's designed this way to make sure no willing female goes unfertilized and reproduction of the species continues. But high speed internet porn completely takes advantage of this mechanism. High speed internet, never ending sexual novelty, never ending searching, dopamine rises to abnormally high levels in the brain ext, rewires the brain, causes desensitisation, eventually causes depletion of dopamine.

This mechanism of dopamine was once great for survival, and still is great for survival for a lot of people who are not addicted to super normal stimulus. In more indigenous times this mechanism would cause dopamine to rise when you done things that were rewarding and good for your survival, eating good food, having sex ext. After you done these things the brain would remember it and it would make dopamine heavily rise motivating you to do these things again. But the problem today is there is things called super normal stimulus, junk food, social media, alcohol, drugs, high speed internet porn. These things can actually cause the dopamine to raise higher than for the natural rewards. So your brain just thinks it's doing it's job and continues to heavily raise dopamine for these things because it thinks it's good for your survival. But the problem is it's not good for your survival and it's actually addiction. This mechanism is actually the cause of addiction. What can also happen is you become desensitized for more natural healthy rewards when you're addicted to a super normal stimulus, because the level of dopamine for the natural rewards doesn't raise anywhere near the same level of dopamine as what it does for the super normal stimulus.
