Deleting porn

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Jun 10, 2019.

  1. So today, day 7, I finally deleted my profile off of a porn site where I had all my favorite videos saved and bookmarked for easy access. I can't say it was easy going there. So many triggers.

I also feel some anxiety about it. All my favorite videos! But really, WTF. I'm feeling anxiety over porn videos. How ridiculous is that?

Just shows how addicted I am. At least I didn't restart!

I felt the same way, but it was necessary to proceed with the healing process. Nicely done

Congratulations, I know how hard it is to delete all videos, it is very important step.

  4. Yeah I kept putting it off and kept saying, oh it will be for when I fail and I'll have this still.

But that's the kind of thinking that causes you to fail! So I just went and did it.

congrats. This is like disposing of your heroine needles. Hard to do at first, feels insane. But its actually essential.
Sometimes when I relapse Im mad at myself for deleting all that stuff. but then I immediately remember that I deleted it, no one forced me to. It was a decision I made for my future self to be healthier and happier, and I have to respect that. It makes me happy when I realize that after the initial annoyance.

Well done. That's a hard thing to do--that account, that site, and those videos have provided you with a lot of relief over the years, and you grew to depend on it. Getting rid of it can almost feel like chopping off a limb.

One of my last hold-outs was a secret e-mail address I used to hook up with women via personal ads on Craigslist and stuff. Deleting it felt like such a loss, even though I knew it was a healthy and necessary step for me.

Good job pulling the trigger and deleting it all when you were in your right mind.

  9. Nice work! Shows how committed you are and hopefully the act will keep you from going back, because you don't have any videos anyways! :D

It's actually a profoundly cathartic thing to do.
