OK... I seem to be in a flatline.

I have been shaky for 7 months now. It has somewhat improved during this time but is still noticable. I guess it has to do with dopamine and dopamine receptors. Also my neck and shoulder muscles are very very stiff. Sometimes I can barely turn my head.

I don't want to open a thread for every symptom I have and shaking has been documented as a withdrawal symptom,

but has anybody been shaking/trembling for so long?

yes, its part of wiithdrawal process , in addition to shaking, i feel extreme thirst , i wake up in night and drink 2 litres of water which is unusual for me as it never happened earlier.
but, i dont feel shaking , panic attacks, anxiety, insomnia, etc
i felt all these symptoms in first 3 months of nofap, but now i am more calm, relaxed , centred but the only flatline symptom i have is no motivation , no libido , feeling asexual etc.
i think the main withdrawals are gone, but libido stuff is left and i guess within 3 months, i will get my libido back and will be completely healed.
i was pmo addict for last 10 years fapping approx 5 times a day,
    how much addicted were you?

I am 27 now. I think I discovered internet porn with 14 or 15. I don't really remember. Until 20 I didn't masturbate that much. It exploded during my time at university from 20 to 27. I masturbated at least 3 times a day. But not every day. I tried to quit before and had streaks of 90 days or more in between. I noticed some light shaking a few years ago. I guess the receptors were slowly beeing destroyed. Last year after my breakdown the shaking is stronger and persists for 7 months now..

By rule of thumb I think it is also about 10 years, if you take away the abstaining periods and add the fapping from 15-20 years old.

I had developed PIED at age 22 I think. But I was able to cure it always by abstaining a few weeks. What I struggle with now are the mental symptoms, not erection problems.

My head feels entirely congested and constricted and I honestly fear this will stay forever. I think I burned a hole in my brain and 99% of receptors are destroyed.

Ok, I had exactly same situation around 5 months back, I had huge social anxiety and when I was in any public place or talking to anyone, I used to always be in "fight or flight mode" and always used to shake.
When I used to stand, My feet always used to shake.

Being calm depends on the neurotransmitter called "Serotonin", and when we fap so much , what happens dopamine raises very high , and dopamine and serotonin should be 50-50 % in brain,
when dopamine gets high, serotonin gets low,
when dopamine gets low, serotonin gets high.

So when we give our brain so much dopamine, our serotonin goes extremely low, hence fight or flight and shakiness.
Try some Bacopa, that increases dopamine receptor density and also increases serotonin, it helped me alot.
500 mg before bedtime does wonders regarding my social anxiety, panic attacks and confidence.
Now, I dont shake anymore in public and feel confident.
As I said, all problem I have now is lack of motivation and no libido thats all, And I guess Im fine with it, atleast it prevents me from thinking about sex and fapping, having no urges is better than having huge urges and relapsing.

You and me are opposite to each other, I dont have mental problems but erection problems and you have mental problems but not erection problems lol.

And hey by the way, you are becoming a superior man, get used to this type of behaviour. I think most people who recover say they have changed, earlier they were like a kid and now they are like a man.
A man who is calm, cool, centred, passionate for his goal in life, I mean you will never be that guy you were earlier.
I can feel that change, Im more centred, confident now and you can say I have matured,
I can handle sadness better, and happiness better, I mean I dont get too sad when Im sad , and I dont get too happy when Im happy, I am more mature man now and I think anyone who does nofap becomes a Matured person and different from before.
Now im no longer impulsive and think before any action I take or speak. I like my new self.

Where do you have this info from? I have read a lot about neurotransmitters and I don't think that it is that easy. I even suspect that both - dopamine and serotonin - are out of equilibrium in the brain. The shaking is rather connected with low dopamine / low dopamine receptor count (e.g. in Parkinsons patients). Dopamine is connected with motion and memory. I experience shaking and memory problems, so there is certainly a dopamine related problem. You are right about the connection between beeing calm and serotonin though. Serotonin is also a precursor to melatonin. Disturbed serotonin amounts / receptor counts are therefore probably what is responsible for the insomnia.

PMO does not only fuck with two neurotransmitters. It actually brings everything out of balance. Beeing anxious may also be due to low GABA. It is an other inhibitory neurotransmitter, which makes you calm. But too little is known on this topic in connection with PMO.

I do have a libido problem too, but the other mental symptoms are far more bothersome.

It is nice to hear, that you have made great progress. I am honestly happy for you. I think for me it will last some more until I feel normal. I have still weird symptoms like a pressure on my teeth or pain in mouth (yes, everyhing has been checked by dentists and doctors...)

  6. If you guys able to do that, spend some weeks in a forest where no emfs affecting your nervous system. Also reducing your emfs exposure as much you can in your home/bedroom.

If my theory right, it is one factor that can speed up healing, kinda alot.

  7. I've been in shaky mode lately(about a month) into my journey. It's unbearable at times especially in the leg area. It seems all my symptoms reflect to what OP enduring in his reboot as well.

Yes, same symptoms here mate. You are not alone. I am now around 15 months clean and still not fully recovered but at least improving. I have/had all your symptoms plus ectopic beats, nausea, panic attacks, face acne and eczema, bad coordination, anhedonia, twitches.

Relapse is in relation to your goals. In my own terms I never relapsed.

I started my reboot with 100 days monk mode where I had 2 wet dreams. Then I resumed sex with women, once or twice a month. I have not watched porn or porn substitutes besides accidentally (I do not use ad blockers, I watch all kind of movies or TV shows, etc.) and, if this happens, I remove my attention from it immediately. I have not jerked off in all this time but I have had a few spontaneous orgasms, e.g. I am so horny that it happens without external stimulation. Almost like a wet dream but I did not have more wet dreams.

So basically I am disciplined and limit sexual stimulation as much as I can. Still need to keep the guard up because I can feel my own weaknesses lingering very often.

I guess you can recover if you quit PMO, but I don't know for sure. I am just another addict like yourself.

Just curious, have you already seen a doctor? It’s really important to have a doctor check you before coming to these forums for support. And when I say doctor I mean Medical Doctor, Therapist and Psychiatrist.

My bad days are not as bad and I have some good days. But it's taking long. The process is very slow and bumpy. Sometimes I don't know if I will fully recover. I hope I will. Almost forgot how it feels to be normal.

Well my parents are medical doctor. I told them about my problem. They told me it may be because of anxiety. They also gave me vitamin B.
