    Bros,

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything, but I’ve been feeling really bad lately.

I’m about 300+ days without watching porn, masturbating to it, and then orgasming from it. Still getting getting O naturally through sex or HJ from sig other only.

My current situation is this, as of the last week or so I’ve felt overwhelmed, panic, stressed, anxiety...kind of like that feeling in your gut like fight or flight. My head feels a bit tingly and had some eye twitches a couple of days ago.

Heavy withdrawal seems to have come back! Early in my process I had lots of head tingling, which mostly went away. Everything felt good and I almost felt normal for maybe close to a month before my current feelings.

As a write this I have a slight head tingle and that butterfly feeling almost in my gut. I wanted to hear from anyone who could relate? Where you went a long time without PMO, got through withdrawals, started to feel better/normal and then went back into not feeling so well or having withdrawals again.

Would very much appreciate any experience, wisdom, or words here. Thanks to anyone who can help out.

First of all, astonishing accomplishment. Very happy for you to have done so well!

Now, I do have to say I haven't made it nearly that far. I'm on my 5th night lol. That said, from my experience giving up drugs, sometimes a withdrawal will come in months down the line. Not common, but it happens. At the end of the day though, all withdrawals are the same. Don't let it get you down and break your resolve! Tell your SO about it first of all, they'll sympathize and want to help you. This could be as easy as having a little more sex, or maybe trying something new together to curb the urges.

Other than that, food and treats helped me a lot with those feelings. A delicious, rewarding distraction? Yes please!

Now all of that said, I do feel I should ask you if you're sure that's what you're experiencing. Just playing devil's advocate here, but is there a chance that some other factor in your life right now could be causing these feelings, and they're simply manifesting as withdrawal symptoms? I'm asking rhetorically, of course. Ask yourself and think about it to narrow that possibility out, is my point.

Best of luck to you. You've already done so well, and I couldn't be happier for you to have made it this far!

  4. Hello mate it does happen. It's a non linear process. I recently started having minor headaches and insomnia again. But they're getting weaker and not as prominent. I believe it's your brain getting better and still trying to hold out for any hope that you're going to give in and PMO. Keep going.

Thanks for the encouragement and wish you well on your journey as well.

I get what you’re saying and sometimes you I guess you just don’t really know how much PMO masked other things.

I hope it’s withdrawals and not something else, but the urges are still very real and still there 300+ days into this. It’s almost like your mind tells you “hey you’ve shown you can go this long without it, so see it was never really an addiction...go ahead and give it another shot.”

Therein lies the challenge I think a lot of us have here. It’s been so long since I’ve had a baseline without porn that your mind and body don’t know if symptoms are due to it or something else.

Thanks brotha. I’ve seen a few of your posts appreciate the wisdom you bring. Appreciate you sharing your experiences on your recovery and withdrawal.

I agree it’s not linear. Definitely moments where you almost feel at a level of stasis and then all of a sudden out of nowhere it all kind of hits you again.

Loved your comment about the brain “holding out.” Mine plays this trick telling me I feel great so you should try it again. I know battling this addiction is a long haul but man is it scary that there is no finite amount of time to overcome it.

You will be man! I remember starting and thinking the same thing. It’s definitely a bumpy ride and just because I have more days doesn’t mean I know anymore than you or anyone else.

We’re all on this journey together and we’ve all realized that we don’t want this addiction to keep us down. That we want to improve ourselves and our mental and physical well-being.
