  1. Glad you are making progress. Nothing can compare to that feeling after you've gone a week or two without PMO. Maybe most of us will relapse every once in a while, but for me it's still worth the effort.

checking in. Restarting counter. I will beat this. I trust the Lord I will that's for sure. It was a hard week to start with and been able to make it until there thanks to God's mercy.
This last streak I've learnt how powerful stress and pressure are. Not easy. New start I'm not projecting the next streak on days as a challenge but I'll put my focus on today. If I make it no PM through the day. Glory to God for this day. (Psalm 118.24)

Haven't checked in a in a while. Plummeting with PMO. Not good at all. Definitely need suggestions for sometihng else to help me out with this challenge. Just signing in to this group isn't helping me enough. Maybe someone replied already. Will search through. Also could use a suggestion for a new blocker. k9 bluecoat isn't working any longer.

Was also listening to a biblical lecture today. Was saying that sexual trangressions are the worst of all. PMO isn't murder, so not sure why the lecturer said that but making me think how important this is. would be great to get any suggestions regarding what else I can do to break this habit. I need some other sort of accountability. Right now no one knows or cares if I PMO all day since I live alone. If I stay over someone's house it's funny how i don't think about PMO much. Being at home alone so much i find myself using PMO for hours at a time now when I should be doing other things.

Checking in today. Wife and I had a small argument and she questioned my efforts recovery. I had slacked off and I appreciate her being willing to tell me. I had my first in-person 12 step meeting last weekend. Will attend again this weekend and look for a sponsor.

Freebird, we can’t make your decision for you, we can’t tell you what will work for you. There are a lot of resources on this site, lots of ideas, techniques and methods that work for different people. My number one suggestion for you is, spend some time here, look around and learn.

If you don’t meditate, try it.
If you don’t do cold showers, try it.
If you don’t get up and move away when you’re about to PMO, try it.

There is a wealth of information, but for it to be effective, you have to try it, you have to want it, you have to OWN the path you are going down.

Checking in Day 32. Still working away without too many issues at the moment. Someone posted on one of the groups i’m part of, that the first 7 days are the toughest. I tend to agree, you go through phases, and that first 7 days are tough. But not the last challenge!
    Keep on educating yourselves!

  17. Hello B1257. You have been added to the waiting list. It may be a couple of weeks before we have an opening, but I will tag you in a comment when we do (watch your alerts).

  19. EcoMunchies' advice was probably the best you will receive. It may be a case that you have to "hit bottom", as with other addictions, before you can make progress in your recovery. It is a mistake to put your faith in filters, and also a mistake to buy into the shaming attitude of religious people against porn addicts. I used to beat myself up everyday because of this. I thought I was the lowest scum of the earth every time I looked at porn. I looked around desperately for years for filtering options to block the porn and none of them worked. Self-forgiveness is the key to beating this, and realizing that you are not alone in your struggle, you are not scum of the earth. We are all here on this website dealing with the same issue. Try some prayer and meditation, try to get some insight into psychological issues that you need to deal with. There are no easy solutions. Here is an online porn addiction treatment program that helped me to get a new perspective on things, you might want to look into it: https://curethecraving.com/

Thanks so much. What about accountability partners? Is there somewhere else to sign up for that?
