I used to laugh at people that had porn addiction

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, May 27, 2019.

  1. Never really knew what this meant until it happened to me. Now I can relate 100% :( . You don’t get addicted at first (it’s just a habit you have under control) but it’s like a parasite growing in your brain that you’re not aware of until it’s too late and you start to have little control as a result, like a slave to your own mind. Is this the leading process of addiction you all have experienced?

P.S I really did used to ridicule people that claimed porn addiction was real and I thought they were just being wimps. I couldn’t have been more wrong. What an arrogant young punk I was at the time..didn’t think I could have an addiction to anything because I was invincible and PMO would never ‘have a hold on me’

  2. A lot of people never admit their errors in thinking, publically let alone to themselves. I'm glad you've had those realisations, they're incredibly powerful.

Personally, I was introduced to porn very young and I never even considered that it was problematic until about 4-5 years ago. I simply I thought I was a fucked unit; I had no idea of the concept of escalation. It's a pretty commonly held view that porn is harmless and addicts are morally deficient. Thankfully movements and communities such as this are gaining traction and opening more and more people up to the reality of how damaging that 'harmless expression of sexuality' is.

  3. Thanks for the response—I relate to this very well. Sucks that we can’t go back but at least we’ve learned from our mistakes

  4. You're welcome mate. It's true, there's a lot to be said for being able to admit and move on from our mistakes. All the best, look forward to reading more from you.

  5. Most people don't even think it's a problem. Sounds like you're doing well my friend.

  8. Guess what! You have a chance to beat the demon yourself, like a superhero character. So, rise up to the challenge. Good luck brother :)

Me too, I didn't know people could get addicted to such thing (in fact I never thought much about it) then I started reading stuff mentioning it, but again didn't think it was something I'll have to deal with.
I believe I had a similar experience, it started as an innocent curious search , to needing MORE. Until one day I found myself so deep in this filth.

Yeah... literally training yourself to be a cuckold is really harmless.

Sadly most of the people, including myself for almost 20 years, think "porn is harmless" (and normal)

  13. Same here, porn has made me a creep wth real life woman. I gotta learn how to control myself, it was never such a big problem until I quit porn.

I think a lot and I mean a LOT of guys would find out they were addicted if they tried to stop.

  15. That's just it. There's a lot of guys out there, including a few that I know, that have absolutely no idea that they're actually addicted to porn. They haven't tried to stop, so they don't know. They're just like "Well, it's just called being a guy." Yeah...being attracted to women in real life is called being a guy, attraction to pixels is not.
