As this is my first post I'd like to introduce myself (which you can skip if you start reading from the fifth paragraph):

My name is Ricardo and I'm from Mexico (so excuse me for my English). I started watching P. at 11, and M. at 12. It seemed pretty friendly, so I kept doing it. At first I did it (more or less) once a month, then it was once a week, until I was doing it at least once a day.

I didn't realize my problem until a year ago, when I started to hurt myself (physically). So I made a couple attempts to quit, which didn't last more than a week.

But it was February 7 from this year when everything changed. I was talking to a friend. We randomly reached the topic of PMO. She told me she thought P. was the worst media a teen can watch, and then, she asked my opinion about it. It was that moment when I realized how ashamed I was of it, and when I realized how much I was damaging myself.

Subsecuently, I started reading about the problem until I found NoFap. I started watching some videos users here recommended, reading scientific and social articles... and then, I was finally sure that I wanted to quit it... at least to reach the 90 days goal.

And yup, since then I haven't relapsed. I'll admit this is still tough, specially on weekends, when I have plenty time to use my computer. I have been too close to relapse, which makes me worry if I can live without PMO.

I really need an advice to make this a little easier (cause sometimes it seems uncontrollable).

Seems like you were PMOing for a really long time. Severe cases can need at least 120-150 days from what I've read. Hold strong and trust the process.

The nofap newsletter has excellent tips if you haven't checked it out yet

You have made the attempt to change and that is what matters. You will not feel good for a few months but if you commit and do it relapse before 120 days you will be on your way to getting a lot better. I have severe PIED so will take at least year for that to improve or more. You have to commit to overall change of lifestyle. Working out or exercising, occupying your time with other hobbies, reading, being social as much as you can and the most important part is ‘working on your career’. I ca not express it enough to you if you at still a student how much better it would be if you got a job while going to school. You will have priorities, responsibility and goals at your job to work on. Probably the reason why PMO when I was in my 20’s and early thirties didn’t get so bad. Keep yourself busy, travel and learn new things as much as possible.

You can do this just like others have. Your friend is right, pornography is the worst thing a person can have in their life..

Thanks for the information. I'll keep doing my effort to remain without PMO, cause I really think I don't need it in my life.

Thanks for the advice! I'm still in the transition to a more productive life (which includes returning to piano lessons, to my C++ lessons, etc.). But I'll take your advice about excercise... I think I'll start by riding bicycle at least a couple times a week.
