    Hello people of NoFap Forum,

Less than an hour ago, I almost relapsed. My urges have been so very strong for the past ~48 hours, stronger than ever before. I am very worried about this. I did not touch my penis or masturbate in any way, yet I was looking at something that involved female nudity, but not for all that long. Still, I am very ashamed of myself, and I feel weakened, not to mention the fact that this is AFTER the multiple cold showers I took throughout these past 48 hours and two different ice packs that I applied to prevent urges (yes, ice).

How can I stop these urges? I've tried exercising at the gym and at home. When I exercise at the gym, in the past, my urges only seem to either get worse or get delayed for an hour or so before they come right back. The same situation happens when I work out at home.

How can I stop these urges?! What do I have to do, cut off my hands? You know? I feel like I am losing my sanity here and it seems like things are only getting worse.

    Any help would be appreciated.

There are two approaches here: you can keep yourself busy through hobbies etc, but I don't think this is a solution. You somehow have to learn to live with these urges. Just acknowledge them, but don't act on them. Mindfulness meditation is a good tool for that.

Don't meditate on your triggers for any length of time, not even a moment it will turn into a wildfire

I haven't had much experience with NoFap yet, so this might not help too much, but I hope it still does. I personally went in with the image of an old story, in which two wolves are fighting inside us, one is good and wants the best for us, and the other is bad and wants our demise. The story says that the one who wins, is the one we feed.
He is fierce, and a starved wolf is violent and brutal, reckless and restless. But don't "feed" him, not the slightest piece of food.
I try to use my imagination and picture these thoughts as some shapeless monster that I slay. Sometimes, even my imagination plays tricks and it comes back, so I slay it again, and again, and again. Even your imagination might entertain you with the idea that you could be "loosing", and even what you imagine could become yourself failing. But the truth is, your mind is your kingdom, and you can force your imagination to make you win, and this imaginative place becomes an actual embodiment of the situation, somehow. But in this imaginative place, you are a litteral god. Use that, and don't feed the bad wolf.

I mean, again, it's my first try and I'm only 9 days in, so this might not help or really be relevant, but that's how I go about it, I hope it helps you. Good luck, congratulations for not relapsing yet. Maybe try to picture the paradise you're going towards, and picture the hell you're running from, if this is closer to what might give you strength. We're rooting for you, do your best. :)

Look on the bright side. Now you see how PMO Actually IS taking control of your life. You are conscious of what is happening. And you can change that. I suggest some type of activity which keeps the mind busy. Something that keeps your thoughts busy. Exercise is great but that is mostly keeping you physically active. You need your mind off of PMO thoughts. Maybe, watch some motivational videos on YouTube that keep you thinking and motivated. Or maybe meditate for 5minutes especially when urges arise. Meditate on a phrase like “i am strong.”

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice.

I am going to find some activity/something to keep me more busy for long lengths of time in order to avoid these urges.

Just remind yourself when you start meditating on triggers and having urges that your brain is searching for dopamine, it helps brings some reason into it
