This is a theory for porn addiction that seems obvious, but that I havent seen much about and that can be forgotten about. Let me explain myself. As a porn addict, when we relapse or binge or MO a lot, while we do it, it is not US who are in control of our brains. It is the addicts in each of our brain. When you watch porn and tell yourself that "its ok", its not you who is in control, its the addict inside you. If you manage to acknowledge and tell yourself that it is someone else, not you, that is controlling you (not to be freaky lol its just to make my point understandable), you realize that you can fight that addict off, instead of letting him control you.

This has worked for me a few times, so yeah just sharing it with you all ;)

Yup, it works quite well. Once you realized that its not "you" in control, you can focus a bit better. Its like realizing you're high or drunk, you can handle yourself better if you focus and keep telling yourself that "its ok, im not in my normal state, im gonna control myself, do something else, and it will be better after". Obviously it takes willpower, like everything in nofap lol.

  7. It Is true that personifying or labelling a thing in your mind can give you much greater power over it. This works with fears as well.

  8. It would be interesting to do an experiment with a group and have them not only identify their inner addict but give him a name and even a whole set of identifiers maybe even an appearance. Perhaps the more established it is in the brain that certain associative pathways are all grouped with this one external character it can become somewhat easier to "shove him out" with a sense of being invaded or imposed upon by this asshole.
