    Hey guys,

So I'm new to the forum but not the idea of nofap. I'm in desperate need of community support and guidance right now. I'm on day 3 of detoxing and I'm trying to be sensitive to my triggers. They come from seemingly nowhere and will hit me at any time, sometimes it's even one word I hear spoken and bam, the urge.

I'm working on those things but practically, right now, I need advice for being home alone and avoiding. I know it's a trigger and I'm aware and sometimes I'm just going to leave the house but I can't do that all the time.

For you guys with the same struggle, what are doing to get over the urges when you're alone?

I actually solved this problem by never being in my room on my own except to sleep and get ready in the mornings. Although I don't live with anyone (parents, kids etc) so this is much easier.

I wake up, work until 8 - 9 pm, go to the gym, eat, then go straight to bed. If im lucky a few times a week I stop work earlier to hang out with friends. But im almost never alone.

It's a tough life with lots of very long hard hours of work and never being in my room to relax but its the only way for me to progress in nofap, and also progress in life and my career.

My next goal is to learn to work productively throughout instead of just working long hours at semi-productive rate. The forums here are somewhat of a distraction I must admit.

Some of the more common things you see around this forum are:
    -cold showers
-pushups/other exercise to burn some energy
    -the nofap emergency button
-opening this forum to read success stories or other stuff that motivates you to abstain (sometimes the stories of people that got it very bad because of pmo helped me a lot to not go back)
    -meditation
    -take a deep breath
-wrap a rubber band around your wrist and snap it when you're thinking of relapsing in order to make that idea unpleasant in your brain

You probably already knew those tips, but yeah maybe they help. I myself don't follow all of them, but apparently that's what is helping folks around here.
For me personally leaving the house and going for a walk helps.
