  1. Hey,
    I´m a 22 yo student from Germany.
In the past 2-3 years i noticed that porn had a negativ impact on me.
I wanted to quit it because of many reasons, let me give you two:

    1. I dont wanna be someone who supports an industrie that, from my point of view, exploits womens credulity. Porn is not working out for the peformer and consumer.. only the pimp (sry manager...lol) makes his money and as soon as the "girl" has shown everything she gets dumped. (You are probably all familiar with the idea of novelty been the main push factor to harder and weird porn... at least for me it was that.)

    2. I do not think that masturbation is unhealthy and bad. The circumstances are what makes it not good for me. Releaf... easy dopamin acces and so on...
I want to be aware of what my brain can trick me with and conquer it.

The thing is.... I know how good it feels to quit this guilt.
I did like 3x30 days and one time even a 120 days streak but always relapsed.
For me quiting is quiting it FOREVER... I wont count this time (or should I?)

Anyways this is why I´m here.

Hopfully I can help and support with what I experienced on my journey so far.

    Btw. day 0 today...

Welcome to the forum! Thank you for sharing your story!

I share a similarity with you in the sense I've had higher streaks outside the forum. However, I am here because of my tendency to relapse and I am looking for something more enduring. Hopefully, this time I will do it. I feel the forum has already made a difference in terms of accountability. My toughest days are lonely weekends. I have recorded multiple relapses during weekends. I wonder what your pitfall was? I have read that having greater human connection does help. I am reaching out of my shell and going to settings where I'm uncomfortable. What kind of hobbies do you have? What are you going to do different this time?

Thank you once again and good luck on your journey!

  5. For me it always starts with "little" errors.
I do not need to go into detail but in the morning like many men I tend to have a boner....
The second I touch it in plesure I know its over... sounds strange but to me from there on it is just a endless spiral until relapse.
I start lying to myself that I´m ready to look at erotic stuff although I never was... I need to quit it forever because it makes me feel bad.

This time I will just resist these little triggers because I know these are the beginnig of the end.

Hobbys: Working out helped me out to overcome urges in the past, now I do it every day...nice sideeffect :D

I´m normaly no introvert but I tend to avoid big partys and stuff... I guess I can work on that to.
Totally agree with you about this lonely weekend thing.
As I said working out ist great and cold showers worked for me too.
Also just go for a walk and breath fresh air anything distracting is helpful.

    One more thing.
The reason I think why NoFap is awesome is because if you think about it it´s not only the PMO thing it´s overcoming you inner ape and using that struggle as strengh to become a better, happier person... I´m on this journey because I know it works!!!

Thanks for the supportiv post, really appreciate it.

My pleasure brother. I know it's hard. Been through it myself so I feel your pain. One rule I have is that I'm not allowed to exercise the death grip over my P. However, I can see how this is hard to implement. The times I have relapsed, it's either been a complete flip of the switch, i.e. all control off just go for it. Or it's been a slow progressive descent into anarchy. So I guess you'll have to figure out what works best for you with a really strong plan for the lonely times. That is actually the only time for most of us to relapse.

Great hobby mate. What do you usually do at the gym? I go to the gym too but mainly focus on calisthenics and weight training. Cardio just for warm up. I want to add some more core training to my routine also.

  8. Mhm...Iguess I´m not alone with these struggles... and I guess thats why I´m here.
    Thanks for the support.

I don´t go to the gym...it´s only body weight training. Every day at least 20 min. For me the accesibility is key, and I always have my body around lol :D . Not much but not nothing. I focus on having at least a decent muscel mass. Core is actuelly very important for me too. I often sit 10-14 week daily maybe 12-16 hours at exam periods and without exercise I get sever lower back pain.
So working out helped me there.

Do you have a routine ?

That's awesome! The key is to always stay active. I feel you on the whole ergonomics deal. Our modern sedentary lifestyles are definitely challenging.

I usually exercise a different muscle area every day. I'm partial to upper body like most men but need to start balancing my workout with a lower body focus also. I love calisthenics and running. I try to do that at least once a week exclusively in a park or so. I try to hit the gym at least thrice a week. I hit the bouldering wall once a week. Fun stuff. Keeps me out of the lonely zones and in the human zone.
