It's because the brain enjoys novelty and develops new pathways to pleasure. It only gets darker and darker. Help yourself now, before it gets worse.

It's been happening to me too this past year which is why I've decided to come to these forums on a regular basis. It helps a lot! Whatever inspires you to quit, think about it every day. Also, porn addiction is usually the symptom of the problem, not the problem itself. So if you can, try to yank it from its roots (for me loneliness is what causes me to have my porn addiction, so now I regularly visit these forums and I'm making significant progress!).

We're all here for you - for each other, battling the same thing. You are not alone. Fight the fight and win!

Wow I felt that. Thanks for the support guys.. I think my root is loneliness as well.. I could just be bored and visit a site.. But I want to get out before I'm way too deep into it. Sometimes it's just hard because I feel like a slave to porn like I cannot function during the day if I do not watch at least a video. Is that normal?

Your condition is very normal and very common with almost every addiction. Brain tricks us to fall, tells us ... Hey let's do this while we can then we can go out and then start our day... First get the dopamine rush it craves... Say no! Be strong! It's not your friend ,it will take u down! You gotta take a stand and beat it.
I completed my day 90 and then relapsed. Currently at day 7. But now I am no longer slave. Will power is a like muscle, u gotta exercise it to make it stronger.

I believe the saying, "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got" really applies to our attempts to stop our porn addictions. We really have to take an extra step rather than just try to abstain from it. It all depends on what your weakness is and what's causing you to fall back into porn. While willpower gets trained while abstaining from it, it gets trained even more by getting out of your comfort zone whatever that may be such as going out, trying new things, meeting new people.

Loneliness can also be a beautiful thing though. It can hurt but you can also grab it by the horns and take advantage of all this time you have to work on yourself however you see fit. I agree with @Leashed4good though, will power is just like a muscle waiting to be trained.

Here's some good methods I found that helped me improve my willpower: Abstaining from porn (we already know that), exercising, eating healthy, cold showers, meditation (I prefer doing this both morning and night, it reaaally helps calm me and clean my mind from any necessary thoughts and urges), expanding your comfort zone (the comfort zone expansion methods really depend on the person).

Keep in mind everyone, it can be tough going through these addictions, our loneliness, our anxieties; BUT you should all be proud of yourselves. Millions of people around the world are stuck in their self-destructive habits and have no intention on making a change in themselves. WE are. So pat yourselves on the backs because we're on the road to creating better versions of ourselves; it's what sets us apart from mediocrity. That's why it's so important to not give up! :D

I have been relapsing almost every day for a few years now.
I know, it's crazy to think that it's an almost daily thing.
I realize that my porn addiction is anxiety and loneliness-driven.
I strongly desire to have a girlfriend. To be more social and outgoing.
But most days I despair and turn to pornography as my "way out".
I also have Internet addiction (social media, YouTube, Netflix)...spend endless hours on the internet.
My anxiety and addiction have worsened since I moved to Miami, an extrovertive city with a lot of attractive women.
    Any advice is much appreciated.
Wishing everyone the best of luck.

  8. That’s how it also was for me. No don’t think it’s normal. Normal is having sex naturally and none of any of yuat in ones head. But not to judge yourself either or condemn...

  9. That’s true. Will power truly is like a muscle that you can train
