    Hi,

I'm a thirty year-old male who is interested in complete abstinence from porn. I don't have any personal issue with masturbation or orgasm - I believe that masturbation can be normal and healthy, and I believe I can separate masturbation from looking at porn. It seems like whenever I make a commitment to stop looking at porn, I end up slipping and watching it about once a month. I'm very interested in gaining long-term recovery, and could use any and all suggestions. Thanks.

  2. Welcome to the community. Read, learn and start making your plan to break this cycle. You can do it.

I think first step is to admit that it is addiction, thats why you cant go longer than a month. Second step is to gain knowledge about addiction especially pornoholism. Third to plan ahead what will you do if urges come.

Just stop looking or searching for them. Focus your attention to other things you love.

not far off your age , so can defiantly relate to what your saying , im on my second reboot , i dont think there is any quick fix or tip to help you stop pmo , you really just need to find that strength to control those urges and yes just not open up that site ... but that easier said than done , as i think we all know to well , but think the key to finding the control is this community , so im here for you as we all are , stay strong

Recovery is gradual, I am sure once a month is sth to be proud of, remember those times when you could not go for a day without porn..Haa. Now, you need to understand the patterns and cycles of your behaviour, uncover your triggers and plan your recovery. When you relapse, it does not mean your plan did not work out, it means you just need to adjust a little in your recovery plan as you learn from your relapse
