I am not an expert but I think depression is caused by the chemicals of your brain not being properly balanced. Unless you were diagnosed that, I don't think it is correct to think of yourself as depressed, I think the correct term in apathy. I have no solutions for you as I have it too so my post could be considered unecessary, if it makes you feel better, you can talk to me about it if you want.

  3. I have found that exercise and good diet help a lot. I mean real exercise like lifting weights, not stuff like walking. Avoiding sweets and eating mostly protein, fruits and vegetables.

There are many forms of depression. It seems quite common however, during reboot, to experience depressive episodes, ranging from weeks to months at a time. I for one have an official diagnosis for high-functioning depression with crippling episodes every so often. It ain't pretty, but giving up solves nothing, so forward it is, no matter how hopeless it feels. It takes a very strong resolve for reason to prevail emotion.

  5. Exercise, exercise, exercise. Get your heart and lungs working and don’t forget to lift weights, not just do cardio.
The effect of exercise on mood is comparable to the effect of antidepressants. It’s well documented and more research is being produced around this all the time. One example:

If your depression comes as part of a package of withdrawal symptoms, the solution is to beat your porn addiction.

However, I am diagnosed with recurrent major depressive disorder (going back over 20 years). There is no cure for a clinical depression like this. :( Nevertheless, antidepressants (two SNRIs) help me manage the worst of the symptoms.

They are well regarded. I am hoping for long term psychodynamic psychotherapy this year. I will let you know if it helps.
