    This.

This is EXACTLY the reason why i am banning porn from my life right now.
I dont have anyone right now. But at one point, that might still happen, and i know i have the responsibility first for myself, but in the end for both of us, to make sure i can make the relationship as beautiful as i can.
And quitting porn is a HUGE factor in doing so. Probably for everyone with an addiction, the most important one.

This forum is a huge help for me in accomplishing that goal because i know i dont have to walk that long road alone.

And you @Jefe Rojo, have just given me one of the best explanation and reminders possible.
I really really appreciate your words.

  3. You’re welcome. Anytime I can give perspective from my first hand experience - I try to share it so people hopefully don’t make the same mistakes I made. Yes, Porn is the catalyst to so many dark and deviant behaviors. It makes us into lesser human beings, slaves to the flesh. The only way we can gain any credibility for ourselves is to leave PMO in the past.

If someone who does heroin stops and recovers for say 10 years then they decide to just try it again. What do you think is going to happen? It's the same with any other addiction.

I'm sorry but that's actually not true. I know people who had serious coke/chemical drug and alcohol problems in their youth and come clean. Some of them can still drink alcohol or do some drugs recreationally on social events or party weekends and stay clean during working days and family weekends. But some of them had to go cold turkey for life… One sip of wine or line/pill of drug sends them back into heavy alcohol drinking or drug use rabbit hole in an instant. I don't know why that is so, but it just is. And when I say they had serious coke and alcohol problems, I mean being users on daily basis for years.

Anyone who is a true alcoholic or drug addict will fall off the wagon sooner or later. You can't use heroin recreationally you can't use meth recreationally and you can't use cocaine recreationally. These drugs are built to get you addicted.

Hell no ! That’s NOT what I mean at all ! It’s called Nofap not NoSex! In fact, one of the reasons I’m doin’ this is to have a great sex life since PMO fucking desensitizes you from real girls.

How do you define TRUE alcoholic or drug addict? My uncle was a heavy social drinker. He was well known wine producer and people stopped by in his wine cellar for degustation on daily basis. He drank 1-3 liters of wine almost every day with them but was never an addict. He never drank alone and could easily go without drinking when he didn't have any wine tourist groups on visit or when he was off work. Sure, he f... up his livers over the decades of alcohol overconsumption but he never developed addiction to it.

My father was on high dosage of morphine (heroin is it's derivate) because of chronic pain caused by adenomas for six years and yet he never developed substance dependence. When he didn't need it anymore (successful surgery), he stopped using it under medical supervision in three weeks with some mild to moderate side effects during that period and that was it. He was " heavily stoned" for six years, yet he was able to get off it in three weeks and never crave for it after.

How is that possible? I don't know. I have a theory that neither of them used these substances to "address" underlaying psychological problems as a tool to escape unpleasant emotional state. If that's true, drugs are not where the problem lays. We should blame our f... up mental state instead and address the root psych problem. Pornography is just our tool to get our daily dose of dopamine fix, nothing more and nothing less, because we didn't learn how to get it from healthier habits. Groups that are statistically most likely to get addicted are people with underlying depression/anxiety problems on one side and highly impulsive people on the other side. Both groups have one thing in common, unbalanced brain chemistry to begin with.

Most people do not understand addiction at all – and I don’t blame them because we are all bombarded with bullshit propaganda all of the time. Addiction is often not caused by the substance itself but more often than not because of some basic need that you can’t get normally.

This short movie describes perfectly how wrong we think about addiction in our society. And making actually things far worse by thinking that way.

And this is exaclty the reason that I try to convince TS to get over his own bullshit. And find the root cause why he feels the way he feels.
