    Hi everyone,

I have talked about this subject in previous posts but it still shocks and infuriates me and I wanted to see if there was anyone else like me on these forums.

Basically, when I fap anywhere near bed time, I don't sleep. It's maddening and almost feels like a curse. Especially since the majority of people say that fapping helps them sleep. Even right now after relapsing I'm laying here at 5:30 am waiting to get up for work. It's the most annoying thing because I'll take melatonin and meditate and read until I am literally drop in off and can't keep my eyes open but I don't sleep, can't sleep. It's impossible.

I know that dopamine plays a role in sleep and I'm guessing that me fapping is messing with my dopamin but why the fuck am I unable to sleep at all! I must head a really shit reward system, probably fucked up by years of PMO.

I'd love to hear from anyone else who has this problem.

  2. I did not had it as bad as you but I had slight form of it. I could lie in bed for a hour or sometimes two hours and not fall asleep even tho I was tired and could not keep my eyes open. Then once I would wake up I did not feel that rested, no matter if I slept 5 hours or 12 hours, or anything in between - still felt rather tired. Sometimes I would fall into that state of hallucination-like limbo between being fully awake and fully asleep. I don't know if you ever had that but man it feels worse than actually not sleeping at all. Ugh!

It all went away after reboot tho. Now I can fall asleep within 5 to 10 min and feel rested even if I do not sleep full 7 hours. So yea, I can definitely approve of the fact that porn (and possibly excessive masturbation, even without porn, in my opinion) do mess up sleep. After I relapsed for a while after my reboot I found out that fapping suddenly started to make me sleepy. That never happened to me when I was fapping on regular basis. Maybe due to me being desensitized to prolactin (which is hormone that is responsible for making men sleepy after orgasm) because I fapped so much the same way as I was desynthesized to dopomine, or something like that? I don't know.

  4. I have the same problem for 2 years. Try not to have orgasm at least for a while, it helped me a bit with something is better. Now I'm trying to limit myself to 1-2 orgasms per week. One year ago it was terrible, I was very tired and yet I could not sleep. It is still happening now but less often.Sunt curios daca v a functiona si pentru tine .

Bro I've already limited myself to once in 2 weeks. But i think the problem is i watch porn for long hours like 2-3hours before orgasm. That i think caused all the problem.

    Hi friends,
So yesterday i could get some sleep.so just wanted to help others who are facing this problem want to share what i did
1.ate few almonds as they help in increasing serotonin secretion.
2.ate small dark chocolate reason same as above.
3.10 minute running and exercise in the evening.
4.in the morning some breathing exercise/yoga see bhramari and anulom vilom on youtubee.as the help in making ur brain work the right way by increasing flow of oxygen.
5.watched a number of comedy clips when travelling this also helped and not staying alone talk to family and friends so that u dont think about insomnia.
6.finally no mobile or laptop post dinner and go to bed bit early.

    Hope this will help you.

and yet they say fap helps you to sleep.

  8. It used to knock me out back in the day as a teenager. But once you get them withdrawals, boy, it’s another story. The insomnia is INSANE!

  9. I appreciate your tips Decoder, but I should point out yoga can fck up brain just like pmo in some cases. I think reading aloud safer way to achieve increased blood flow to the brain. Peace.

ME. A lot of times, I fap and stay awake. You're not the only one. For me, it typically wakes me up at night though. Before I made the decision to stop, everyday I would wake up in the middle of the night to fap. I woke up yesterday (as always) but I didn't. I think my body is just so used to waking up to fap.

Maybe. Sometimes people wake up and it’s pretty normal. Also medications can affect sleep. I know some antidepressants fuck with sleep.

Due to this sleepless curse. I spend most of my life feeling shit. If I am able to abstain for a while I sleep great and feel better than I ever have. I am currently laying in bed putting off getting ready as I hardly slept. This weekend I slept one night properly. I look and feel shit I used to be handsome and have lots of female attention. Not anymore.

hey guys, can i recommend the stay focused app, it is brilliant because it can freeze your block time and you cannot uninstall it, so there's no way your addiction can make you do a u-turn. but that's as far as dealing with porn goes. I have the same problem, but its really stopped my night time viewing. but i need some help with always wanting to masturbate, any advice would be much appreciated!

  17. Funny I used to do it before going to sleep and it always helped me sleep. I felt more tired and relaxed after doing it. Then I stopped and started without PMO and it caused me to not sleep for a while but after 9 days without PMO, I have been having some great night's sleep.

I’ve always abeen a light/shit sleeper. But when I’ve had my longest streaks my sleep is better and dreams more vivid. That’s the dopamine pathways reawakening.

For me it actually helps me sleep, or pass out into sleep.
but if I am not asleep within 10 mins I would stay up for hours trying to sleep. this may lead me to a second PMO. It's a vicious circle
I learned that I can't depend on it to fall asleep, as it may have the opposite effect if I don't manage to sleep quickly.
