  3. Take a walk, play a videogame, cook something in the kitchen, go meet a friend for coffee, do a crossword puzzle, meditate, read a book, clean my house, do my laundry, play my guitar, listen to the radio, write an old friend an email, watch some sports, lift some weights, take an online class, etc.

There are many choices other than PMO, you just have to be determined to do something else rather than act on the urges, until they pass, which they will.

Well said. You have to think about something else. You’ll never stop thinking about something by trying to stop thinking about it. However it’s surprising how quickly you’ll stop thinking about it when you engage your mind somewhere else.

  5. I like to confront it directly. I will say a prayer for God to help me and take it away. As long as I'm willing to let it go, he takes it. The thoughts fade away over time. As long as I continue to surrender the thoughts, I can be free today. Sometimes I see things which can trigger the thoughts like women on TV or women walking in the streets, when the thoughts return, I just pray about them again, and boom, they lose all their strength. I don't fight them; I let them go.

Cold shower, more time with nature and intense exercises like lifting weights, it would shift your attention to something else.

That has happened to me a lot.

I have tried a lot of things that perhaps might help you:

-Memorizing and reciting Bible verses in my mind. That changes the focus. Also trying to pray until sleep.
-Sleeping on my belly and concentrating on not turning around.
-Thinking about organizing my day tomorrow.
-Even bed exercise is possible. Just lay on your back, raise your heels a couple of inches, and keep them there (without touching the bed) for time. Works the abs really well.

For me it hasn't been a complete solution though. Probably getting up and having a cold shower will be much more helpful. Requires a lot of willpower, but that is the issue, right? when you exercise willpower it strengthens you. Keeping that in mind is likely to help.

  12. I say you need to take drastic action. Getting naked and showering or staying in bed, IMO, are the last things you want to do.

Get out of bed, leave your phone on the table, GET FULLY DRESSED, and go to a room in your house that does not have a computer. Do some pushups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, any sort of exercise. If you feel it’s safe, go out side in the night and take a walk. Maybe drive to a late night grocery store and go grocery shopping. Or drive to the water, if you’re close to a body of water, and see how it looks at night. As I said you’ve got to take drastic actions to break this habit. I tried “softball” methods for decades and had nothing but failure.

Is there a healthy hobby you enjoy? One that you do in the house and doesn’t involve the TV, game counsol, or any electronic devices? Get out of bed, GET FULLY DRESSED, go to a room without a computer and engage in your healthy hobby.

    Those are my suggestions.

ok so i was just about to relapse after a week. I went onto p and I felt nothing normally I feel inside me sexual tension building up ready to o. Nevertheless I still have attracted to women and can get an erection without p. Are these all signs of me being cured.

  14. Go inside your mind and battle it.
