PMO since I was 12 (now 26) - considering rebooting

I'm a n00b to these forums and am a 26 year old very frustrated dude with an engineering degree, no debt, a very successful career (so far), and am in good physical shape. I discovered PMO back when I was ~12 and PMO'ed about 1-3 times a day since then. That generally seems to be about when most of these symptoms started, but I can't remember for sure. My biggest complaint thus far is that I've always had some sort of "mental problem" going on weather that be depression, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, brain fog, mood swings, you name it. I've been actively trying to chase the brain fog specifically for the last ~7 years with some ADHD stimulants, anti-depressants, pretty much every natural supplement designed for serotonin/dopamine support, etc and, while some things help for a couple days, absolutely nothing sticks.

I've compiled a more complete list of symptoms for another forum that may be relevant here as well. Many of them seem possibly caused by PMOing from the reports I've heard:
    - Brain fog (and accompanying motivation and attention issues)
    - mood swings
    - head tension (feel like a rubber band is stretched around my brain)
    - depression / anxiety
    - chronic small headache nowhere in particular - just everywhere, but with an occasional sharp pain that lasts for a couple seconds, then disappears
    - sometimes almost feels like my brain just stops working and I suddenly lose 30 iq points and ~25% of my cognitive function (but never full-on seizures)
    - lower back/vertebra, right sacroiliac joint, and right hip pain that can be excruciating and comes and goes with no real patter, but often lasts several days or weeks
    - acid reflux that comes and goes
    - get plenty of sleep (~9 hours), but never really feel fresh and rested
    - within the last year or so, I discovered that I had become lactose intolerant to "large doses" of dairy (such as drinking a glass of milk), but smaller doses (like eating pizza) didn't trigger it.
    - I traveled out of the country and didn't take my daily multi vitamins and the mental fog got substantially worse, then lightened up once I returned and started taking them again
    - I often feel better after taking a 3rd vitamin, but I don't see that as a long-term solution as 'overdosing' on some vitamins for a long time can be problematic
    - occasional intestine pains, but often short lived. I mostly brush them off as normal, but it might be worth mentioning
    - still have some acne and freckles on my shoulders, back, and chest
    - energy comes and goes sporadically. Sometimes caffeine helps perk me up - sometimes, it makes me sleepy.
    - Not socially 'sharp' and I can't just "shoot the breeze" like most folks
    - difficulty recalling things I know that I know
    - high blood pressure diagnosed in college (~22 years old) at ~ 145/95 when I was (and still am) a very physically active a fit person
    - heart palpitations also beginning in college

I figure I really ought to kick PMOing anyways after being on it for ~15 years. I know everyone works differently, but I'd like to get a general idea what to expect if I can, so I have a couple questions. Firstly, when might I start to see what types of results? Specifically, brain fog and social anxiety stuff are my 'worst offenders'. Is MO off limits too, or is that the effectively the same as PMOing? What about MO from a girl? I might add a few more on here as I think of them, but that's all I've got at the moment. Thanks for sticking through the whole novel and thoughts, comments, advice, experience, etc are all appreciated!

Results may vary for all so it's only you who can tell but a few months like 3-4 months (sometimes more) are required to see some results. Most guys here avoid MO along with PM as many of us are also addicted to MO'ing here. MO from a girl can be as bad as MO ing alone but again you can see it yourself. Good luck man!

@djentonaut Our stories and symptoms are very similar man. I got diagnosed with high blood pressure while in College, the nurse at the student health center couldn't understand why I had high blood pressure so young. I got to connect the dots years later. PMO also gave me diabetes. I have spent almost 30 days on nofap hard mode and my blood sugar and blood pressure were normal but then I relapsed. It's my goal to stop it once and for all. I am also a successful computer programmer but PMO has really caused bad damage. Those tension headaches that a few seconds and disappear also affect me. PMO is as dangerous as bad drugs. Now I'm on this streak for a while. I wanna last at least 6 months on nofap hard mode. how is your blood pressure and blood sugar now?

Heck, this is an old thread. Shows how much I suck, I guess because I'm just on day 4 of a new hardmode challenge. I'm still on blood pressure meds, but last I checked, my blood sugars were just fine.

You are of the few lucky ones who got a successful career even with PMO use. Many of us here are fighting PMO use because they drastically deprive our confidence, will power and time, and hence a not so successful career and short lived relationships, if any, with girls. Nofap may be your answer to better your career to another level.

  7. 112 days. Anxiety has increased. Tingling in neck and face. Jitters. 100% porn free and 98% masturbation free. Had PE and PIED but that had greatly improved. Hard all night. Orgasms are off the charts and ejaculate buckets. Hang in there. Everyone says it gets better.

I'm doing fairly good this round so far. As I'm writing this, I'm on day 10 and I've started to see some glimpses of mental clarity, sharpness, girls noticing me, etc... Obviously, this is just the beginning and there's a long way to go, but little glimpses like that give me hope and determination.

  9. Post acute withdrawal symptoms them bro. I still have a few lingering. That head tension I have had on and off for over a year.

Ugh.... Well, I was on day 18. I had a Chrome incognito mode going on because I was researching some potentially sensitive stuff (nothing related to PMO). After I researched it, I was just like "well, since I've got it open anyways...". I was over halfway to day 30 too! Well, back to day 0, I guess...

I am not sure why would anyone need an incognito tab for browsing anything other than porn. Illegal stuff I guess?

  12. You're seriously addicted it seems. I think PMO has really become the new normal for your brain and quitting cold turkey could land you in a very dark place. I mean the symptoms of active addiction are bad, but nothing compared to what happens after quitting cold turkey after having been addicted for years on end. Just so you know... Not saying this to scare you or anything but like me you started at a crucial time in brain development and you may experience some serious withdrawals if you decide to go past that 18 days or whatever period of time your body can fend off withdrawal for. Not saying you should stay addicted but you should definitely realize that the withdrawal process may threaten your carreer as symptoms could be serious. Wish I was joking but unfortunately addiction that bad can eventually cause clinical depression because of the adjustments in the body and brain.

Good thing I don't care about your incorrect assumptions. I'm not going to bother justifying my non-pmo browsing/research material to anyone here. It's just the fact of the matter.

I know withdrawal symptoms can be a b**ch, but they seem fairly short-lived in all of the testimonies I've read that are similar to my situation (at least the super-nasty portion anyways). I have relapsed twice this year so far, so, while it's not a perfect streak, I can tell I'm totally making progress in that direction as long as I don't let myself get sucked in as bad as I was. Perhaps easing off of it will help withdrawal symptoms? I'm not really sure, but at least progress is being made.
