Communist Earth 2050

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Dec 17, 2018.

  1. China is getting tired of being the world's factory. They're looking to level up and make someone other than their own people do the work. It seems that the lucky chosen are the Africans since China has already invested $100B and built at least one military base there. Africa's population will have tripled by 2050. Well-fed thanks to Bill Gates, they'll make great slaves.

The US orange man is doing some work to thwart that but it won't be enough even if his tenure is extended. Europe is as usual too paralyzed by its fascists and separatists to be of any use. God Emperor Xi probably won't be alive in 2050 and neither any of us since we'll all be killed by Chinese battle droids. But hey, let's not be negative about that. The bourgeois will finally be defeated.

  2. I don't think this is plausible, but I guess I get what you're saying, there's a problem to be solved.

I'm having a more positive outlook. I think we will make automation work, because there is no other way we are heading nowadays, before we make africans work for western countries, we will have machines and programs that outperform any human, it's up to politics to deal with this situation and take care of the people that will lose their jobs sooner or later. In 20-40 years you will not have truckdrivers, the construction industry is also giving it's best to automate. I'm in the midst of the development of that.

I just hope it won't be too late to change our current systems to apply to these new conditions, otherwise I imagine civil wars and whatnot.

  3. Depends on robotic slaves being cheaper than human slaves. Even then, Africa has a huge amount of natural resources and China won't be thrilled to pay. Colonialism works, we tested it!

You Chinese? Your words have heavy nationalist whiff to them.
Anyway, this doesnt sound like socialism. Which makes sense cause China is mostly capitalist these days.

  5. A theory I have.

The year approaches 2065. We've had automated shipping, delivery, manufacturing, and agriculture, and shopping for years. Unemployment starts creeping up, 5%, 6%, 7%, eventually ends up in the double digits by 2035, 10%, 20%, 30%. Even jobs requiring extreme specialization start to be automated. Eventually the number of jobs starts falling precipitously, we reach 50% unemployment worldwide by 2050.

There is worldwide unrest as there are so many unemployed young people. By 2065 unemployment reaches 75%, with only vital systems being controlled by humans. Most people alive by this time have never had a job. We are still producing items with an efficency never before seen due to automation. We end up having to make a decision on weither people are going to eat or be clothed in a post work world.

This makes a perfect storm form Communism.

  6. Under that situation we literally have 2 options.

    1. Abject poverty

    2. Relative comfort for all. Can be upgraded to a life of leisure and pursuit of happiness for all.
