Thanks man. I'm not gonna come off the antidepressants 'cause the pro's outweigh the con's. I'm not really depressed anymore which is great. I have friends again and I can get out of bed in the morning. Conversely, I think I'm impotent. I haven't tested this with a woman yet but I'm a little afraid to try. Anyway, for now, I'm sticking with the anti-depressants.

I eat alright. I'm not on any special diet or anything but I try to eat a balanced diet as depicted in the famous food pyramid. I often fail and end up eating more meat than I should but I'd classify my diet as a typical American diet.

Well, there's no real science behind the theories about how PMO affects the brain. The science is either exceptionally weak or non-existent. The theories of sensitization and desensitization are just that - theories. And there's literally nothing backing up the idea that there's super powers.

My personal experience is that there are some positive benefits for me. I no longer feel ashamed of myself, I don't feel like I need to hide all the porn-related stuff. I'm happier now that it's behind me. But as far as the supposed physiological benefits that some people tout, I didn't get any of those.

I dunno if I was "really addicted" since I'm not convinced masturbation is addictive. I will say that I PMO'd on average about 3 times a day for about 15 years. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but never less than once a day.

Have you ever read the book YourBrainonPorn? Some really interesting information on how pmo affects the brains reward system similiar to that of crack and herione addiction. Has pictures of how the brain changes and everything.

I think the main reason you have to get focused is in get fitness. I dont mean you have to be like a bodybuilder, but you should go to the gym al least 2-3 days every week. And of course, eventually to take away from that antidepressive medicaments. You should try new things mate, Honestly I want you to have a new grip in your life. You are clean for 6 months, then get fit and see what you will become.

  5. And don't forget that you can exercise at home! Aerobic exercise is known to have positive effects on mood. I would also recommend learning to appreciate cold showers when still warm from a workout.

  7. Apparently the nicotene is only in your system for a couple of days, so it's just a habit and thinking we need to do it. Well done; great work!

You need to deal with one issue at a time mate. We all are here in this site because of our issues.

I have pied because of this stupid addiction. I have all the associated issues with it.

You’ve done a lot better than most. Start training/running/press-ups/sit-ups or any form of physical activity.

You can do it. There’s people on here including myself who you can always talk too. Even vent if you’re stressed

    Stay strong brother

Thanks guys. I appreciate the support. I'm on day 4 of quitting smoking and it's not so bad. I had a couple of nicotine fits today and I've been acting like a bit of a jerk but everybody knows I'm quitting smoking so they give me a pass. I did some chest presses today but I'm not feeling up to doing any cardio so I'm skipping that today. I went to the book store today. It was nice being able to browse at my leisure without having to worry about going outside to smoke a cigarette. That's probably what I'm looking forward to the most is being able to do things that take a couple hours without having to interrupt for a smoke break. It's nice not having to worry about whether I have my cigarettes with me or not or "do I need cigarettes" and stuff like that.

The skin under my nicotine patch started to itch really bad today so I took it off and put one on my other arm. The skin where I had the patch on was red and inflamed. I think it's because I kept putting it in the same spot. So, I'm hoping that by alternating arms I can avoid the skin problems.

Other than that, I reset my NoFap counter so that it more closely reflects how long I've been abstaining. It's not perfect but that's a ballpark of when I stopped PMO. I don't think about PMO anymore so it's not even an issue anymore.

I hope you all have success with your NoFap journey.

You should definitely try intermittent fasting if you're looking to lose weight. It is much more efficient than diet & exercize (even combined together!) to lose weight. After some time fasting will regulate your hormonal system and normalize it. When that happens you'll probably won't need your meds and your libido will come back.

Human body is wonderful but you need to let it rest and everything will be fine. When you stop eating your body will use its energy to remove toxins & heal yourself. There is a ton of documentation about intermittent fasting, check it out.

I've been fat too and struggled with shitty diets, nothing can beat intermittent fasting for weight loss, believe me.
