I'll keep repeating this line throughout the day whenever I feel temptation surrounding me. I think the problem is that my brain has created such an attachment to these "pixels"

Funny how you used the term crack addict :). Before I joined NoFap I tried to master my sex drive while watching porn (the naivety). My rationale was that if I deleted my porn, I would be taking the easy way out. I believed that if I could somehow watch porn in a "controlled manner" and learn how to swim in the lust without being swept by the tide...I would be cured.

The problem with this method was that I'd shortly find myself binge watching porn from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM the next day...sigh... Looking back at myself, the holes in my logic and mental gymnastics needed to believe such an outrageous idea, makes me wonder how I could be so oblivious

Ha. Definitely won't help self-mastery to look at that stuff. Delete away!

The rad thing about getting clean is that you really can very quickly start seeing things more clearly. Like the soul regains life -- glad you're noticing that, too :)

    Just delete it FFS.
You're always going to be a loser if you keep it.

Definitely get rid of it my friend - put it behind you and try to forget it (it will take time, but it's worth it). I deleted my stash of fairly extreme P around 3 years ago (A +12yr collection at the time). But the feelings of joy/triumph knowing that a) no one will ever find it and I will not be humiliated/ashamed by it and b) I no longer need it at all, are well worth the sacrifice.

There is no real worldly benefit to keeping it, but you stand to gain a lot from deleting it and replacing it with something that doesn't lead to/continue an unhealthy addiction. :D

I kept all my bookmarked porn throughout my initial streak of over 100 days, but eventually I relapsed and went back to it.

After a month or so of trying to quit, failing and binging I got sick of porn, deleted all my bookmarked videos, reset my counter and never looked back.

  8. Delete it now. If you hang onto it, you will not be able to ignore it, nor will you ever make it to "someday".

I threw a collection of DVDs in the dumpster. Felt very good. Best believe I had thoughts of going to get it though...

  10. Think of it this way: Your future self, who is a porn & masturbation free person, won't need a "porn stash". It's part of the past and your change starts now. Delete that shit and focus on building the new version of yourself. That version won't need any stash.

Let me telling you, i just deleted my 100 GB P collection, twice.

First time that i destroy it, i bring it back with software. Then i destroyed it again not too much time ago.

Is not a big deal to not have a porn collection, im telling you, i had it lots of years. But now i realize that the P is all around the internet, and there will be more and more, and you never will watch it all.

So theres not point to have a collection, if you desire an video you deleted, just go to P pages and watch another thing, is not a big deal.

Of course, i not recomend to watch P, just saying that delete P collection is not a big deal. Quit PMO is the real deal.

Just delete it, then when you relapse, you dont have the need to use it, just go for normal pages and thats it.

Also delete the collection is a good first step. Theres lots of ways to relapse, just delete one of it.

Oddly enough, deleting my digital porn was not that big a deal - though I didn't typically keep that much as there is always something new anyway. However, I felt real aversion to getting rid of some old (90's) magazines I had not looked at in years. I do not miss them.

  14. Man I have suffered this problem numerous times over the last 15+ years. You spend all that time saving these porn clips, and spend all that money. Then your guilt/shame takes over and you delete all of it. Then you regret deleting all of it. Then you spend all kinds of more time/money saving more porn clips. Then more guilt/shame/deleting, and the cycle keeps repeating. What a horrible cycle.
A problem for me is that on my two favorite paid porn sites, you save the porn on the website itself. As far as I can tell, I can't delete the saved clips. Cancelling my membership does not make my saved collection go away, it is still there, saved on those websites, ready for me to rejoin. It's ingenious.
And of course this doesn't touch the issue of the free sites.
But I would say, delete your porn collection. It's an important symbolic gesture, at least

I can't even believe this is a thing. You delete your entire collection and you can still replace it all and then some.

  16. I had one left laying around forgotten for a long time and threw it out a couple weeks ago. I’m wondering what other crap I have laying around that I’ve completely forgot about. I’m thinking I should do a thorough house clean and find any other garbage and toss it. Feels good to be rid of the crap. Over a month PMO free now and my life overall this year has changed for the better.

    Bro, high to the five
The last time i deleted my porn stash i regretted it so much and ended up downloading them again. All you gotta do is listen to songs. That will keep you away from porn and masturbation. Keep the stash no problem but dont watch it and always remember that watching porn and masturbating stops you from being successful. Having sex is even better try doing that xDD

  19. If you still hold on to it, then you are holding on to the temptation. It will eat away at you, nagging you inside your brain. 'I'm still here if you want it' 'think of all the effort you've been through to get me' ' what a waste if you throw it all away' As addicts our logic is often flawed when it comes to justifying things, it is the emotional part of the brain taking over and because porn has been like a crutch it feels like by getting rid of it you are dumping a girlfriend or somehow causing yourself more suffering. but i promise you, if you can find the strength to remove all of it, re format your hard drive and start from square one it is an important step. Holding on to it is no different to a crack addict keeping a rock or two in their drawer...you know, just incase even though they have supposedly sworn off it.

You don't need it, you only believe that you need it and by holding on to it you are still letting the addiction control you.

i thought i wouldn't delete mine at the beginning, i thought "ive put allot of effort into this collection, ill save this stuff and delete the others", not anymore, if you wanna escape the porn you must leave it totally and completely

no bullshit, just a clean and pure computer. its a weight off your mind too
