The word 'secular'. Please look it up.

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Sep 17, 2018.

  1. It's right there on the home page: 'Science-based, secular, and sex-positive'. If you don't know what the word means, please look it up.
We are trying to better our lives by taking responsibility, so believe what you want, but maybe Jesus or Allah are not going to change your bad habits.
    You are. They will approve.
    Life is short..

  2. I would say that while the site is secular, it also isn't anti-religious. Many people find their spirituality and religion to be incredibly important factors that help them to quit porn. That's great and they're welcome to share that in their personal journal threads.

But yes, we prefer that all threads are secular outside of personal journals and specific religious groups, since that way people from your religion, other religions, and non-religious people can all benefit from all content on the website.

  3. Well said. Thanks for what you have done in starting this site.

  4. If religious post are made its best to report them. They usually get moved to the religious groups. It would be better if people actually started the threads in the religious groups since it takes up unnecessary time when moderators have to move them. Also would be better if people who want to take part in a religious discussion actually visit the religious groups. Fact is a religious thread gets more attention if it's originally posted in the off-topic.

Yeah I'm usually not a fan of any sort of religious or non-religious posts made on the secular threads. Though I don't mind discussions that may include topics of religion. But if I see someone post something that pushes or preaches a religious/non-religious view then I usually report them.

Did you have to throw that last part in there? I think you may be the one who doesn't understand what secular means. Secular doesn't mean atheistic. If someone wants to share of what helps them overcome this battle then who are you to judge them for doing so? If they aren't telling you to convert then you should just let them be.

  8. I'm certainly not going to get into an argument on here. I know that the law of cause and effect is real, so I feel that it is important to remind people of that. We can be better people due to the effort that we put in.

  9. One of your moderators has contacted me to warn me about my secular post, including a suggestion that there may be further implications for my account. 'Attacking another's religion' was part of the title. I don't believe I did that.
