I believe that no streak, no matter how long it may be, can be healing in itself

    I have got the feeling that keeping clean alone, no matter how long this can be, cannot heal anyone from porn and masturbation addiction let alone make them have a healthy sex life.

    Any opinions on that?

    No, because you need to fill the void, left by the destructive behaviour, with something constructive. Many addicts can go to rehab and become clean, while the real challenge is to learn, how to stay free permanently. That is why people set themselve goals or take personal challenges. Some want to get rid of ED or HOCD, others want a relationship or to cure social anxiety. Find out what you really want and commit yourself to go for it.

    It is just a personal opinion. I believe that having a healthy sex life is crucial, and I do not believe that this comes from keeping clean alone or by leading a constructive life.

    Having healthy sexual life would surely soothen your urges as you would have your sexual needs satisfied, but I personally think one can learn to wholly control his own sexuality only not having any sexual life for some time. For me this is preferred to replacing PMO with sex with other person straightaway, because in this way I can gain certainty that I am the one who's in charge and I have sex because I want to and not because my body says I should do it.

    Learning to have satisfying sexual life with other person after PMO addiction is of course a completely different thing and I won't comment on this as I don't have enough experience with this (if I remember correctly 45 days was my best streak, so I was just in the middle).
