It is ok to plan MO while rebooting? Planning relapse?

Please I ask for the MODs to erase the other threat named "plan nicked" as it was a mistake I did. I'm Sorry.

hi guys, I was wondering what to do after my first challenge. I know lots of people here started with big challenges and that's great.

In my case, I decided to get rid of porn completely. But after reading some post at the forums, and your brain on porn, and a really good book about how to build habits, I wondered if it's better to plan a MO relapse in order to make it voluntary, allow to free builded tension, and avoid the harsh feeling if do an unwanted relapse. So I'm deciding between the next three options:

    1. Keep the Zero Porn policy, but MO on day 31 to release tension and avoid unwanted relapse, next challenge will be 45 days no MO

    2. Keep the Zero Porn Policy, but instead of MO, find someone to have sex on day 31 to avoid unwanted relapse, next challenge will be 45 days Hard Mode

    3. Keep Zero Porn and Zero MO policy for a longer time (60 days e.g.)

I'm thinking about this mainly because I haven't got to the flatline so far, so I'm worried if I keep without MO for too long, my chances for relapsing will keep growing. On the other hand, if I get to the flatline, I won't need any tension release mechanism so I'll be fine with option No. 3.

What do you think about this ? I will deeply appreciate some opinions so i can choose the best route.

    Thanks.

I don't know about this planned MO after reach certain days, I got your reason but for me, I made this mindset "once you choose to walking in this NoFap Journey, there's no way to turn back (go back to PMO in this case), the only way is keep on going forward, no looking back" have to be fully committed, huh? well I think it just me. any other thought from other fapstronauts about this one?

I understand where you're coming from with the 'planned relapse', and if indeed you hit flatline before your planned days, then you're ok, but I do think that if you want to beat this, then it would be best to just stay away from MO completely.

In my own opinion I believe you should abstain for a period of months (1,2,3 etc generally depending on your diagnosed severity of addiction) then begin to MO once a week using realistic techniques or a fleshlight but that's just my opinion. You definately need to overcome the bad end of a flatline before you start to introduce MO (as a healthy source of pleasure).

The research goes quiet deep and I feel I am on the breadth of discovering an overall life strategy of addiction but to be completely honest research hasn't currentally been able to coheriently and confidentally express an overall goal / solution.

    Option 3, option three!!!

Why plan a lapse- even if it's only to MO? You'll slow down your reboot. And to me me it sounds completely counter-intuitive. Part of this challenge is learning to live with the built up tension. In a way, the tension is good for you. ;) But other than that, the body has natural ways of releasing excess sperm- such as through nocturnal emission.

I highly recommend you try to abstain (from P and M) for as long as possible. That is the best way.

The obvious outcome you seem to have missed is that with options 1 & 2, you will get the chaser effect. Whether it is via your hand or the walls of a vagina, when you have an orgasm and cum you will get a big dose of dopamine sloshing around in your brain. Once that reward circuit has been triggered, the brain will want another hit again and again and again i.e. the chaser effect. It does not serve any useful purpose to go for either of these options.

Option 3 allows your body to absorb or discharge in urine or in a wet dream, any unwanted sperm/semen. More importantly, your recovery will proceed without interruption or delay. I agree with NoBrainer... it is a no brainer, lol! :D

  7. If you want to go into a new life, then you need to eradicate such plans.

If you plan to relapse, then in fact you have a kind of "Plan B" in your mind.
It is like a hidden door back to your old life.

You should remove that door. No way back.

Set the sails and sail off, to new shores.

    The tension comes and goes.
Just resist and no PMO at all. Try with all your willpower. It is not easy, but focus on the kind of man you want to become.
I know there is a better life for all of us ahead!

There are different methods of using your will power. I recomend you read the book "Willpower: Rediscovering the Greatest Human Strength" by Roy Baumeister. And to answer you question: You should choose option 3!

Thanks for all of your answers. I like to get advices for more experienced people. That's the cool part of this forums, sharing experiences; if weren't because of that I would choose Opt. 1, but I got that its better to stay on Opt. 3 for more time.

I still don't understand well how the chaser effect works.

Thanks for your answers. Ill be reading the book, commenting afterwards.
