Cool, thanks for the response. Do you find yourself unsure you'll really experience the benefits some people talk about in here? Thinking it's not worth the intense struggle? Unable to even go a full 7 days without PMO?

If the answer to those questions is yes... then I see where you're coming from. Maybe a blocker would at least discourage it enough to allow you time to really start to feel different and become convinced of the value of this. That said, I still maintain that the only way to truly leave PMO behind is cold turkey and with no aids outside yourself. So if you already are convinced it's a good idea, there's really no need for blockers and this sort of trial.

You may want to check out another post I recently made that's kind of controversial in the self-improvement section. I recently found that by reducing how often I use soap in the shower, I greatly increase the positive reactions I get from women. Pheromones or whatever I guess. Probably don't do it if you're significantly overweight and sweat gets trapped... but otherwise it might be a way for you to get the biochemical effects to make a difference outside yourself sooner rather than later, hence increasing your motivation.

 

I'm very satisfied with CleanBrowsing. It's blocking content in Microsoft Edge, something that Open DNS wasn't able to do.

 

What's better clean browsing or adguard family shield? It locks Google into safe search and blocks most ads and all P sites I have tried.

 

I have problems with most of these blocking Reddit and imgur.

 

I blocked reddit on my phone and tablet using restrictions in the settings to block the websites and also setting apps to not allow 17+ apps and only allow 12+ apps and less. Make sure someone else puts the password in and tell them to not tell you the password no matter what. Also on my computer I use cold turkey blocker and pluckeye. I also deleted all other browsers and only use firefox.

 

What kind of phone do you have? All you have to do is find the brand your router is and type into google brand name router settings. It will probably pop up something like 192.168.1.1 type that into your address bar. Then you type in router username and password.

What you have to do is download applock. Download version 2.22.2 from google if it is not this version it will be missing an important feature. Download dns66 I don't think it's on the playstore you'll have to google it. to setup dns66 you'll have to set all 3 sliders on the first page on and get addresses to a P blocker list. You put the url in there and you also add any other sites you want to block like youtube and P sites that might not be blocked. Make sure you block everything you think might cause you to relapse. I would block all search engines except google. My dns is set to lock safesearch on google. I use adguard family protection. Now go to applock and use a fake email adress I used [email protected]. Lock dns 66, settings, and the playstore. Also setup all the security features on applock that it tells you. Also this is why you need applock 2.22.2 block the ability to install and uninstall apps. You can also in the settings hide applock.

 

Update to my suggestion. I now use google family link. I have the parent app downloaded on a friend/accountabilty partner's phone. You can use your wife's phone. The parent device can be apple or android. It blocks incognito mode and blocks bad websites it also blocks downloading on playstore without parent permission. It sends them a notification and they can accept or not. It can also block bad websites and you can block specific sites. Simply blocking incognito makes it work enough for me. Good luck day 3.

You don't have to tell her, but telling her would be the right thing to do. Also telling her would make sure she doesn't delete the app or ask you which will make you either lie or tell the truth. I don't think deleting the parent app after you set it up will affect your android. An apple phone would work great. Just set up restrictions and have your wife make up the password and put it in. I made my sister do this, and I made up some story. Either way is fine as long as you quit PMO forever. Good luck.

 

Unfortunately I think no DNS server will block 100% of the porn sites. I tried to combined several things : DNS, block list in the host file, mozilla addons to block websites based on HTML checking etc... Even with all that, I can still see porn site if I really want to. It's good to avoid triggering pictures though but one should not rely on it !
