Most of my teenage and young adult years were wasted. Being confused, angry, lost, and just wasting time. I'm older now with less time to live, but I make the most of my life with clear purpose and direction.

I was always jealous of people that knew what they wanted or at least were given a purpose by their parents at a very early age. It takes a lot of time to develop yourself and your reality. It makes me wonder of all the things I could've achieved if I started out that young.

I eventually grew to accept that everyone has different journeys and paths in life. Everyone learns and experiences things on their individual timelines. That life only fails to meet expectations if you compare it to some generic mainstream model of it.

I wouldn't be me if I didn't spend my early life that way and I love who I am today. The past is gone. The future is uncertain. The present is the only reality that I can truly influence.

Wasted youth (no clear direction or purpose) or wisdom with less time (quality time spent with clear intention)? I asked this question to a lot of friends and colleagues. Most of them chose wasted youth. I prefer the latter.

I'll continue to make the most of the present and be grateful for it because I know what it's like to be lost, confused, frustrated, and wasteful of life.

  2. Nothing is wasted. All failures bring with it a seed of an equivalent advantage. Wise wisdom I originally learned from Napoleon Hill.

I feel wasted youth is the plague of the century for an entire generation of gizmo idiots.

    Porn is a soul cancer.

    Maybe in an ultimate sense?

Things including lives are wasted all the time on this sick, sad world my friend.

  5. Everything is for a purpose, lives being used were used for a reason. Don't be so pessimistic! Even from seeing people die, there are lessons to be learned & seeds of advantages to be gained.

  6. Not sure what the question is man. It's easy for me to say, though many of the laws of the universe can be used for great good or great evil. It's up to us which side we fight for. I do agree life can be more a shade of grey instead of black & white, nevertheless I enjoy it with great optimism because being pessimistic doesn't logically help.

  7. Porn is easier to find these days which leads to the "wasted youth plague"

    Also i understand @ThatMagnetMan pov

For every action there is an equivalent, an opposite and a null.

Its not how you start in life, but how you finish that matters. I have made mistakes, sinned greatly ultimately against my best interests, and the past is gone now. All I can do is make the most of the time that I do have left. If I look at things with a doom and gloom lens and wallow in it I will sink deeper. I have to trudge ahead even if doubts linger.

  9. I definitely wasted my youth but i learnt not to dwell in the past it’s a heavy burden and keeps u up at night once you truely understand that the past is the past a weight is lifted off ur shoulders

  10. I don't think you can really separate them. If you keep things in proper perspective, the experiences during your wasted youth is what lead you to your current wisdom. The dumb shit you did was dumb but its was still an important part of your development so I think its wrong to look at it as some kind of tragedy.

Also, It seems like alot of people don't realize that you don't necessarily have to complicate your life to death just because you're older. Alot of people change their priorities in life and career to do what is expected of them. I need to make more money to impress women and my peers. I understand this is somewhat necessary if you have a family but in many situations, you can make more time for clear intention if youre willing to forgo material things. People can live without alot of the things that most people consider to be necessary.

It takes balls but you have alot of people who move away from their metropolitain rat race and bounce to another country that allows them to live more simply and never look back.

If you can learn from a period of your life, then is it truly wasted?

Life is all about learning from experiences and gaining wisdom that we might otherwise not receive.

Better to “waste” youth than to be at one’s end facing a wasted life.
