    Day 2

I had a decent urge to PMO this morning but I managed to get through it by blasting music instead.

Work was good today. A lot better than yesterday. I'm beginning to feel like myself again. I spent the morning singing at the top of my lungs to my roommates cat's.

Most of the people at work were friendly. I did different things than I usually did today, so that was a nice change of pace I guess.

Spent a few hours practicing two different builds. The first one is pretty solid and works almost every time. I'm having trouble with the second build though.

I'm a little nervous to just start playing. I guess I really need to just go for it even though I don't have any builds or plans. I'll gain experience and hopefully ideas. So I'm going to log 4 hours right now. When the match up for the build I've been practicing comes up I can use it. When a different match up comes up I'll just wing it for now.

    Hey Mochi,
I'm super glad you found an outlet to get you away from poker, pogies, and porno.
I don't know why, but it hurt me to see you struggle. Even though we all do. I think it was because you were such an inspiration to me when I was really down about that chick. (which I'm feeling way better about by the way). I hope people's ignorant statements (adjoint) don't get you down. We're all awesome for being here. Keep up what helps you my man. I'll be checking in from time to time.

    Peace brother.

Oh yeah how are things with that girl. ;)

I haven't really spoke to her in a few days. We'll see. She hasn't messaged me either so, who knows?

Hey man I'm a big star craft fan as well. To be honest I was very prominent in the competative first person shooter scene but I definately delved into SC2 at a point (diamond league give take and bunch of things :D) however I did end up leaving due to the fact that mechanics and rote knowledge play a HUGE part of the game. There are not many players in SC2 that can play of tactics alone and not have a very fast APM/EPM. Just in regards to using SC2 to learn strategy that can applied to life, whilst yes it does this it's likely not going to give you enough practice in this area.
Also there are many benefits to practice good habits and taking action (building it up like a skill), just look at all the life strategist (counsellors and what not) that are considered so effective as broken teachers because the emphasize and understand all the negativity that one can go through because they it deep rooted in themselves, they know all the KNOWLEDGE to get out of it but they don't have the ability.

If anything I'd recommend a youtube video Ted talk on youtube "Skillpower over willpower" that would recognise strategy as just 1 of 6 important aspects in behaviour change.

All in all though man great too see you making change, I hope it's going fantastic and SC2 is definately a fabulous game.
    Best of luck man :D

my brother is since 5 years heavily addicted to playing WOW. he is playing every day more than 5 hours.

his social life is dead. i mean real social life outside (in the real world). not the friends in the game.

replacing one addiction with another addiction is not so smart.

i played many years playstation in the past - many hours. lots of sports games. :)

I generally agree with monkotto. I in-fact can see all the benefits of going back to gaming. Making youtube videos, helping mates, having fun socialising and competing and creating teams...always on voice chat. Despite this I gave up as well because I have just found that whilst gaming fills many needs it can never truly satisfy you.

I agree with the previous 2 posts. I myself was addicted to Diablo, Morrowind, and other games in the past.

However, I think that have a minor StarCraft addiction, at least temporarily, is better than cigarettes, gambling, and porn.

Keep up the good work Vm, if it's working for you, who care what the naysayers say. Haters are going to hate :)

Was wondering the same thing the past few days. I was thinking to myself, 'why haven't I seen the Starcraft thread lately, vM hasn't been posting...' Just searched his username and it appears I'm not the only one whose wondering this.
