I want to recommend a free program called k9 web filter. It allows you to block specific categories that are detrimental to your efforts. Furthermore you can block websites based on URL words that you preselect. I have found that the time management system is very helpful as I turn off my Internet at 5 o'clock in the evening using this software as the evening is the time when I most vulnerable to relapse. The best thing about this software is that it requires the master password to uninstall and to change any of the settings although using a bookmark you can add sites to the always block list without needing the main password. The link of this software is below I'm not affiliated with them at all but have found them very helpful in my efforts not to watch pornography and as Terry Crews said "willpower alone will not allow you to overcome this crippling addiction!"

    Google K9 web filter

  2. Let me say something that might change your thoughts on the matter
You can’t say to me that you don’t end up using will power because no software or physical restriction you put on yourself can stop you from pmo so when you think about it
It comes down to will power to choice

We all need willpower to make lasting decisions. However willpower alone is not enough, using software and physical restrictions as you put it create an environment that allow us to best deploy our willpower. For example when sending alcoholics to rehab therapist don’t sit them in a room with a fully stocked bar and say “now I don’t want you to touch anything.” They create an environment which limits their access to alcohol and allows them to focus on other things such as working out the deep rooted causes for their addiction. I believe that dealing with pornography is the same thing. By just trusting willpower you’re already at a disadvantage because the brain will tempt you to return to the neurological patterns that have been created for many years thus leading to relapse after relapse. I’m not saying that the only way you can achieve recovery is through using filtering software but I am saying that a tool such as this allows for a greater chance of recovery.

  4. K9 filter didn't work for me. After a few weeks to it blocked all websites - I literally mean every single website on the web.

I agree with you. Willpower + a good daily routine helps stay sober.

  6. Why not just use one that's not as harsh, like a DNS blocker or something, they seem to work good.

  7. Yeah, I use IOS. I just wasn't impressed with K9 since I got for one computer and it went it like that, and then I used for another and the same thing happened.

  8. Ah okay, I couldn't even get K9 setup properly on my Pc and it obviously doesn't work on a phone so it was useless to me. At least there's options now unlike before.

  9. I don't bother with blockers because they wouldn't stop me had I made a decision to relapse. It takes discipline & just making a definitive decision.
