Recently, as a part of my morning routine, I do general meditation for ten minutes.
Unfortunately my routine starts and ends with that.

I'd love to see what sort of activities you all have in mind. In particular, I'm eager to see what ones help with resisting urges throughout the day. Thank you!:D

  2. Well for me its
    1. Meditation
    2. ICE COLD SHOWERS it puts a jolt into your morning start slow on this one build up to really cold

  3. A list of applicable household chores: Throw in a load of laundry/fold what's in the dryer, clean any dishes from the previous night, take out the garbage.

I also work on a puzzle for 5-10 minutes each day. Great way to keep the mind completely focused on something.

Maybe use Duolingo to spend a 5-10 learning a new language.

Cool! I'll have to start taking cold showers. I've heard it's a great way to build discipline. Thank you!

I'll definitely check out Duolingo. Thanks for the help!

  6. As I stated start slow with this one its easy to get frustrated with it if you just jump into an ice cold shower the first time without starting a little warm. I suggest you start by using warm water at first and SLOWLY BUILD UP TO COLD bye the end of your first shower the water should be a lot colder than normal. After a couple of weeks you can jump in cold shiver a little and shake it off like nothing .
note- if you have heart conditions do not try this before getting a check up by a doctor to see if the heart is good enough shape to take it , I did before I started doing them. Good luck have fun with it

So i wakeup at 5am and immediately drink half a bottle of water (your body is dehydrated from sleep processes so this is important), then i have a probiotic+vitamin c dose since both can be taken on empty stomach / convenience factor. Meditate for 30minutes then jump into an ice cold shower (i don't do this bit anymore but works very good.) After all this it's time for breakfast.
You can mix these routines up a lot so just a list of stuff here :

    Meditation
    Cold Shower
    Journaling
Workout (particularly good before a cold shower)
    Cardio
    Praying
    Breakfast
    Supplements

Meditation is a constant since there is practically no reason not to do it but the rest are variable - choose whatever suits your goals.

Note : might not want to eat breakfast straight away if you're planning to do work related things in the early morning - it will reduce your efficiency since all your energy is going into digestion.

Well for me I wake up at 5. Then I do
    1) Meditation - sitting cross-legged and breathing. Just 5 minutes.
    2) Visualisation - thinking how my life will look in a few years.
    3) Affirmation - Reminding myself that I am worthy of what all that is good in life.
    4) Reading - I read self improvement books for around 20 minutes. Right now reading Power of positive thinking.
    5) Exercise - I do yoga for a 30 minutes. I learned yoga from watching Shilpa's yoga from YouTube.
    6) Writing - I write if there are any particular task I have to do in the day rather than my routine. Also write down any life altering ideas I came across.

Yeah that's how my morning goes. I learned this routine reading Miracle Morning by hal elrod. You should also read it. It explains through all these habits.
Then I get ready for work and do my best their.

There's a Miracle Morning app also. If you need to ease into it a little more, it has 1 minute for each of the 6 categories, and you can customize the time. The acronym is SAVERS (Silence, Affirmation, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, Scribing) and I do it most mornings, though not enough. Elrod says that he checked out what successful people had in common and they all used some combination of this.
He forgot to mention NoFap, because MAAAANY successful people do that too.

Something I have found that has been working for me. I made a list of values with my therapist that I betray when engaging in harmful behavior (for me it's webcams). Some of these values are "I value spending my time wisely," "I value my money," "I value having control over my actions." I recite them every morning and night, and pick one value in particular to focus on for the day.

Awesome to see so many of you guys are into the same kind of things I am! Specially the cold showers. Most people act like I’m insane for doing it.. don’t know why? It’s just water, not battery acid

(UPDATE) Meditation is an essential for me now. I have meditated in the morning for about 2 weeks now and it has been surprisingly beneficial. I also have been doing a 5min journal as a part of my routine. It helps reinforce positive thinking and also provides me with a way to reflect on my progress.

Following my journalizing, I listen to a podcast called Pornfree Radio. This podcast has changed the way I look at my porn addiction. The host Matt Dobschuetz speaks to my addiction because, instead of finger-wagging, he dives into his personal experience with porn addiction. I HIGHLY recommend you guys check this one out.

Thank you all for the replies. I'm working on implementing some of your ideas into my routine!:D
