Tomorrow I begin one of the biggest changes of my life.
I am 25 years old and I am struggling hard to beat my addiction with masturbation. The longest that I have ever gone without masturbating is 16 days. The best 16 days of my life. I just can never seem to get passed the fourth day of my path to recovery without relapsing.

My goal is to become a clean man for the woman that I will hopefully only day be marrying. I don’t drink or smoke so I have never felt a “withdrawal” before. But after reading a few stories, I’m a little nervous to feel a withdrawal from something that I didn’t find a problem until I was 19 years old.

Any tips? My goal is to start off small with at least one month without masturbating. But my goal for the year is at least 6 months without masturbating.

Hi @AMCarrera and congratulations on starting to quit PMO. It's good just to go one day at a time. a 90 day challenge doesn't mean you can start using PMO again without being addicted on day 91. If you quit PMO, then use again it will re-activate the addiction. So, just stay clean one day at a time. But if you do relapse, despite your best efforts, then don't be too mad at yourself. Just keep coming back, and it will start to click. I'm pretty sure I'll stay clean today and I could see this streak being "permanent" but its not guaranteed. I've thought that alot of other times and changed my mind and relapsed. So just do your best. If you relapse, just ask yourself, "what could I have done to make it through that urge?" and next time you're in that spot, you might be more willing to do that instead. There's always at least one option to do besides using PMO. Maybe it is as simple as coming to this forum and reading some threads or maybe its going out for a long hike. You will find what works for you. It's great that you don't drink or smoke. THat should make it alot easier.

    Beware of the Chaser effect!;)
(It basically says that you get these intense urges after orgasming) It always gets me and thus I try to warn everyone haha
    Stay strong bro!

It's good that you want to do 6 months of NoFap but why not go for the Gold, man ? NoFap is not a challenge, it's a LIFESTYLE !! If you do even 10 years of NoFap, you'll be addicted again if you go back to PMO.Have the mindset that you want to be on NoFap forever ! The Journey might be hard but it will be worth it in the end.Good luck, you have my support !

that's great bro. That's now your time bro. If you do it now when you get older you wouldn't have a problem. Be wary of this. I am also not an alcoholic. Also I'm not a smoker. Butts p*** addiction to masturbation is the most disgusting addiction one can ever experience. Also be aware of this. Of course there is there's many things harmful to ours psychology and mantality health with physical health. Pmo always take you back from life from reality to destruction. I am five years older than you. Believe me

Thank you for all of your support. I had a mess up on the 30th of this past month. But so far is my second day, and I’m going strong. My goal in the long run is to definitely break this habit. But considering I've been addicted to PMO for many years, six months is my current goal. If I can beat my goal of 16 days, then 6 six months and finally 1 whole year without going back to this habit. I know I can definitely break the chains for good.

Currently on my fourth day without PMO.
Day 1- Bleh. Nothing new lol
Day 2- I had to keep myself really distracted to not do anything. And I started to fast and pray to help me overcome this habit
Day 3- I finished my fast and focused myself on keeping the sabbath day holy.
Day 4- today. I walked my dog for a few miles in the morning to tire myself out. I tend to have these urges early in the morning. Or right after taking a nap.

I have learned that being this young can at times make this habit so hard to quit. But I plan to work hard and tire myself out at work or at my internship to help me get more days in. I have also found some games on my phone to prepare myself for those desperate moments.

I’ve learned that quiting cold turkey is a lot harder than expected. I was going on day 4 when I had a slip up. But after my day of slipping up. I felt sick to my stomach. Because while my body craved it, I absolutely hated the process.
I’m back on day 2. And I’m feeling a little better about myself.
Even though I may not know any of
you on a personal level. It’s something about “checking in” that really helps me make the switch.
