    I have question,
    On your brain on porn
    https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/reboot_your_brain

    Under the section labeled
"Thoughts on temporarily reducing or eliminating masturbation during a reboot"

    It says this

I'm a diagnosed with OCD and I can say my compulsions worsen but at the same time I notice the thoughts now and they are not masked by PMO

With PMO is hard to start fighting OCD to get better because your tired and your mind is all foggy

Though it can be a bit much.

I read if you masturbate with out fantasising you lessen the chaser effect and I'm geusseing it a bit easier to reboot with OCD.

I don't think I fapped once with out P my whole life

    any thoughts?
    Thanks Wario

Don't Fap. OCD isn't an excuse for lack of self-control.

You are stronger and braver than you realize.

This whole matter and questions like it should be discussed with the treating professional who did your diagnosis and who is providing you with ongoing therapy or medication.

    I try my best.

The problem stems from this. Your brain wants dopamine bad. since it not getting any from P it turns other options.

With OCD for example evey time you do a compulsion (try your best not to) it gives you relief for moment and then the cycle repeats.

That relief is the brain giving you a does of dopamine.

Now you get an increase of compulsions Plus with the flatline makes for a good time lol

That being said I did do a 68 days streak.

I think going to increase my mediation

You say you have been diagnosed with OCD. Are you currently seeing a medical professional about your condition? It might be a better idea to take up your concerns with with him/her than ask us here.

I have some OCD, and it used to be a lot worse, with improvements and backslides for about five years, with an overall trend toward getting better.. One of the ways it manifested for me (and still does sometimes), was that there were little things that would bother me a ton about my environment. While I was engaging in PMO and immediately afterward, the things didn't bother me nearly as much. Then if I abstained for a few days, I would become hyper sensitive to them, but ultimately the more separated I am from my addiction, the less hold my OCD has over me.

I don't know what the relationship between this addiction and my OCD is, but I suspect they feed off of each other, probably in some way related to the dopamine issue you mentioned. Also, I've never actually been diagnosed by a professional, so it could be that I am misdiagnosing myself when I have some other related disorder, but I hope this helps.

Bingo that sounds right. You mind with be fixated on a thought/compulsion constantly bugging you and then when you PMO it all goes a way. Then theres a sence of calm.

What I found out though is when you PMO with OCD it's like covering a fire with a blanket. The fire is still there, its still burning it's just not as noticeable.

The healthy way is to accept the stuff in your head and eventually it will pass.

When did you feel like it got more manageable? I'm geusseing the first 2 weeks would be the worst

I'd say between 1 and 3 weeks was the worst, depending on other life circumstances that might be adding or reducing stress. After about 4 weeks, things would level out for the most part and from there get gradually better.

  10. I've been abstaining for a while now and I have OCD but it seems that in a sense the more time I spend away from PMO the worse my symptoms actually get but that could be but initially after a relapse I guess it could help to diminish the symptoms for a little while but overall the biggest issue I have with OCD and PMO is intrusive thoughts and that's actually the reason I quit: Intrusive thoughts during PMO make it uncomfortable so it isn't wise for me to PMO anyways but that said I don't have an official diagnosis from a mental health professional but all the symptoms are there though.

  11. I'm going through the same issue as you. Diagnosed with OCD, anxiety, and depression. Quitting PMO is awfully hard because of my OCD thought process. I watched lesbian porn before even though I'm a straight girl, and my OCD thoughts kept telling me "OMG WHAT IF IM LESBIAN OMG" even though I KNOW I'm straight, so to relieve those thoughts I kept watching straight porn to reassure me that I was straight.. Then I got desensitized to straight and lesbian porn then moved into a more hardcore porn fetish.. Then I was like " OMG OMG AM I INTO THIS CATEGORY NOW?!!" Then watched straight porn again to reassure myself... the thoughts always pop up too the strongest when I'm trying to quit, they convince me to watch straight porn again to "make sure" I'm not into worse stuff..

We're all in the same boat here.
From my experience when abstaining from PMO, its like fire by baptism.
Due to OCD and its relation to dopamine we get an overload of thoughts. Since we cant PMO to relieve the stress there are only two options. Let the thoughts take over us or accept them as thoughts. Obviously easier said then done.

Theses video helped me a lot starting off, explaining that OCD is just thoughts and if we let them pass like clouds in the sky they start to weaken.

(Out of all the video I watched he is definitely the best on this subject)

I highly recommended watching his top 10 tips on how to overcome OCD.

Its good to know there are people out there like us.

I would stress again that group support is wonderful, but some of the symptoms people are expressing here could be greatly helped by trained professionals.

My respectful opinion about the whole " i abstained and got X symptoms" is that it is total nonsense, stoping sexual activities will have 2 systematic consequences : better energy/mood/stability, and possibly more horny if you entertain sexual thoughts, and the rest is placebo, or maybe some ignored issues resurfacing, but they have always been there sex addiction was just hidding them.

If you use PMO to manage stress and difficult emotions, those things are likely to feel more intense when you give up PMO because they won't be anesthetized by a sexual release.

Me I have OCD and I’ve had it for years and masturbation is one of my worst obsessions/compulsions because it causes me to count and keep up with how many times I wack off and i can stop for a while but it feels like when I have that “relapse” life starts to go downhill for me because of it so I fall into the cycle of repeating the action in a specific number to realign with life before the act
