Hey guys! I am posting this threat here because I am omw to self improvement (Nofap, Mediation, Exercise...) BUT...

I have read many information about flatline, many reports about it. Clearly I'm on flatline right now, 2 weeks or so.
How i feel Flatline? Yes, sometimes I feel very good, low anxiety, increased confidence, I had lack of these when I was PMOing. But, when that flatline hits, and it hits more and more frequently, I get depressed, anxiety increases like never before, confidence fades away, No sex drive, no urges, no nothing.
The reason I started Nofap was to get away from those feeling, to have increased sex drive, increased libido. And what happens now? They are on 0%. I feel like i am totally off. Sometimes I'm all the way up (1-2 hours a day or so) and then booom, total downhill. Before flatline started it was soo good to be on Nofap, I felt benefits day by day.
Don't think that I am giving up or something, ofc NO! If Flatline will be here for 1 year, I still not give up. There is no way I am going back to my terrible addiction.
Thing that bothers me is that Flatline can last pretty long, I don't want to have low attitude. Some say that M could be cure for Flatline, But I am not on Easy mode, I chose Normal mode so M is not option for me.
Guys, if you have any useful or good news for me, please write.

    Peace!

  2. Although the flatline causes a low mood, its most profound effect is to kill your sex drive. After years and years of slavery to intense sexual urges, this is a welcome relief. If you think on it, you will also find reasons to see this as advantageous.

We are suffering from chronic overstimulation of the reward circuit from fake sexual cues i.e. masturbating to porn.
In order for the brain to recalibrate the damages to this reward circuit it has to impose downtime or flatline to carry out
the work. So, draw encouragement from the fact that during the flatline, your brain is healing and putting things right!

It will probably last for several months. The first time I experienced this, it started @ 20 days and concluded @ 70 days. :) But YMMV. I only mention my personal experience as something to compare yours with. Meanwhile embrace the flatline. :)

Thanks! I think the fact that my brain is rewiring itself will definitely be ecouragement for me, I know that and I am trying to always repeat in my mind that things are getting in shape. I also forgot to say in thread, the Flatline could not steal my motivation. When i am happy or sad, I always have strong motivation to do the right things!

  4. Great to hear that you are highly motivated. Remember the analogy of the glass is half empty or half full. So, keep looking at things in a positive way. If you do feel despondent anytime, come here and your peers will be ready to pick you up. :)

Here's a rebooting timeline I like. It fits with my experience so far. It says you should expect sexual drive to return in the 90+ phase.

Things will get a little worse before they get better. The effects of the flatline period are unnerving and challenging to deal with, even for a short duration. Remember to become knowledgeable about the experience by reading the stories of those that made it through. It will help keep you motivated and provide you with a loose series of guidelines to help you allow your own journey. Do not give up. You will make it through.
