I've realised that the point at which I'm most vulnerable to relapsing is after I've just woken up in the mornings, lying in bed and snoozing the alarm clock. This is especially so following a late night when I'm tired and finding it difficult to motivate myself to get out of bed. Today was one such situation, snoozing the alarm clock, not wanting to get out of bed, thoughts drifting off and then relapsing. This has happened several times in the past few weeks, it's as if I'm relapsing to avoid getting out of bed!

Today I had a 3 hour binge, resulting in the fact that I'm now terribly late to work, have lost half of the day and feel demotivated for the prospect of the rest of today. On previous occasions this tends to lead to repeated relapsing throughout the day owing to the apathy it causes me.

Does anyone else experience such lack of control first thing in the morning? Has anyone got any good tips as to how to conquer it, as it seems to be the only time I relapse nowadays and I feel as if I'm stuck in a rut as I've been attempting nofap for over 3 years now and my longest streak is barely three weeks.

Don't put your alarmclock next to your bed, that way you have to get out of bed to turn it off.

How close is your alarm clock to your bed? It's much more difficult to hit snooze. Once you've already stood up and walked across the room, you may be less likely to hit snooze. I don't know what your morning routine is, but taking a shower helps me to wake up on those days...making it a cold shower also helps in eliminating any persistent morning wood. Put together a morning routine and make it important. Make sure you get to bed early enough to get enough sleep...I typically like to get 8 hours, but lately, I've been waking up extra early (without an alarm clock) after only 7 1/2 hours of sleep. Good luck!

Try to get out of bed as soon as you wake up.
I have noticed that since we are constructing a new life, we have to attach to new habits.

It's not easy. But I hope someday it will be a part of us. Simply nofap will be a natural part of us.

The brain has to disconnect that source of pleasure.

It is hard, but we have to try to live day by day. Second by second. We are going to be new men!

May the force be with you!
