What is the longest someone using the NoFap approach has gone without PMOing?

    Goddamn. 863 days!!
Anyway my present streak will hopefully be permanent. See you after a few years :)

  3. Someone in Success Stories has gone 12 years I think. Pretty impressive. Anyway when you quit for life, well you quit for life.

  4. That is seriously impressive! talking about making a decision and sticking to it long after you made it.
Very true, You only quit once. And once you do you're done with it.

PMO ruled my life for over 14 years. I went from using it monthly, to weekly, to daily, to several times a day. Not PMOing had to become #1 in my life, over everything else, because if I didn't find an answer to it, it was going to destroy my life.

Someone told me a saying that became crucial to me: "Don't PMO if your ass falls off" meaning no matter what happened in my life, up to and including my ass falling off, PMO was not an option. I repeated that to myself constantly.

I couldn't have gotten here alone. I tried doing it alone for 14 years. I found people who had not PMO for years and called them when I was feeling tempted. I don't consider myself cured because I'm still tempted periodically. PMO is an isolating thing for me, so becoming involved with other people has probably been the biggest help.

"Success is never final" Winston Churchill. I'm aiming for 60, but once I hit that I'll just be setting the next goal. I'm sure you all can relate.

The presence of the stories of such warriors helps the newbies like me. It is my second day and when I saw that it is POSSIBLE to abstain for more than 2 years, I realized that what I would like to see my tracker like in the future. The support, it is all about the support and helping one another to remain healthy and motivated

Does it mean abstaining from PMO - or sex altogether??

To Rocky's point, I'm not here as a do-gooder. If someone can get some light from my path, that's great. I'm here, and at sites like this and in-person recovery, because I still need the help.

Carl Jung said a "protective wall of human community" is necessary to keep some people from the dark side. I still need community. 800 days is the past. Today is the present, and I'm as capable of screwing up as I ever was.

To zenmaster's question, before 2012, I would relationship hop. The problem for me was that as soon as sex entered a relationship with another person, the sex became more important to me than the person. I became addicted to the sex and only used the other person to fill it. That's not cool for me anymore, anymore than PMO. So I haven't PMO'd or had sex since the date on my counter.

You don't die if you don't have sex. You can die if you don't have love, and my life has lots of that these days. I'm waiting to fall in love for keeps, and then sex can come back in.
