How to avoid relapses while trying to fall asleep?

    Hey guys
    sadly i relapsed last night,i talked about it in the relapses categorie.
    What this relapse and my past experiences thought me is that regarding pmo i am the weakest when i am laying in bed and trying to fall asleep.Urges hit me like crazy. Or if i wake up early and i don’t get out of bed(That happened this morning).

    So i need a better plan for these hours
    do you have any ideas or tips ?

    over use of tv and mobile before going to sleep is main reason .
    in my case, tv is main problem before sleeping. Before sleeping, do not use TV and mobile at all.Before sleeping, think about an important thing

    Try to use melatonin. It will raise your melatonin levels which will than decrease your want to masturbate. Higher levels result in lower interest in anything sexual. It does work.

    I would download a meditation session that is 10 or 15 minutes long. (headspace app) You can use that to observe your thoughts and it will help you relax a lot. The important thing here is getting to know your head on these moments of extreme urges. Plus you will likely fall asleep on the process.

    @thel00ker meditation, that’s a good suggestion .I don’t think i will fall asleep that easily tho i will try a relaxation video that last for an hour or so so that it’s more likely that i will fall asleep .I will try that tonight.

    @washerebefore1983 Do i need a doctors prescription or can i just buy melatonin?Also do you know if using melatonin supplements is healthy or if it has any side effects

    Nope you dont need to see a doctor for it. You can get it at the store and it's not expensive. As for side effects, it it's completely safe. Ive had no side effects at all from it.

    Some other tips is to go pee before you sleep and find a time you normally would sleep. If you sleep earlier than you normally would sleep, you can wake up to this problem. Also you can keep a spray bottle of water in the fridge so if you have a problem, you can spray it on your penis and it will kill the want. Hope this all helps too.

    If you do wake up and the want just does not die off, play a video game or something. Distract your mind and when you go back to sleep, you will find the need is not there.

    you're welcome! try something you can hear from your bed, watching a screen might even be triggering.

    I struggle with the same urges. As soon as I feel myself drowning in those urges I try to do something immediately to keep me busy. Idleness is the devil. Examples, cleaning my room, running errands, working out or even video games

    At night when I can’t sleep are the worse, the urge to grab my phone and search for porn is so tempting , but I’ve gaining will power over it lately, I’m on day 14
