    5. Abstinence, Retention, and Sexual Transmutation

Beyond Recovery "MO", masturbation and orgasm discussion. While not particularly on-topic for this recovery-oriented forum, retention, coined from "semen retention," is the act of abstaining from orgasms for a period of time, often outside of the goal of recovering from pornography addiction. Those retaining are often interested in topics such as sexual transmutation, motivation/energy level changes, or other effects of going for periods of time abstaining from or greatly reducing the occurrence of orgasm. Some "rebooters" end up enjoying the impact of inadvertent "retention" from a reboot and want to continue even after they feel like they've gotten a handle on porn addiction. General masturbation discussion can go here too. NoFap doesn't outright advocate for such concepts, but please keep any conversation about such things relegated to this forum section.
