I'm 24 years old; no girlfriend, still a virgin and recently decided that masturbating 2-3 times a day on average while looking at porn (softcore or hardcore) and/or nudity online isn't right for me and direct action was needed. So I've deleted the nudies filed under "Oggle Toggle" on my internal harddrive and decided to go public online.

    I need help.

I think I started getting habitually addicted because my self esteem was low when it comes to women, I felt lonely and ashamed that I wasn't "scoring" with girls (in my opinion, talking with them and establishing meaningful social connections were what really mattered).

I won't say I'll never look at porn again. I doubt that it's completely dangerous and unhealthy in an infrequent and non addictive manner but that's just me-I don't bash the industry's performers (except the abusers and users). But in the long run, it doesn't make me feel good, it won't replace and find better fulfilment than the real thing and is a waste of time. I'd like to get control of my urges to fap, regain confidence in my character of attraction to females and accept myself as capable and deserving of love like every other human being on the planet. I don't hate porn or blame the people involved in it-although it would be better if they knew what effects they had. I think the human body is a marvel of evolution and that sex is a positive way of exploring ourselves and others and enjoying companionship.
