If I Relapse I Commit Suicide

Please do not ever even consider throwing it all away by your own hands because of the paradox of pain and numbness that this addiction ensures. It is hell. My attempts at recovery have led me to even greater evils temporarily. Real life acting outs and Relapses to that made me not only consider but almost got me to the point of no return. But somehow I have held on.

And despite even how dark and hellish my mind feels, I am still glad that despite everything, I haven't let my demons have the ultimate victory, for as long as I am alive, I can get back up to fight. As can you.... Please, I implore you, do NOT consider suicide, ever

I also recommend getting professional help. If you can't get a handle on your addiction by yourself, let professional mental health professionals help. Look up psychiatrists or psychologists who specialize in pornography or sex addiction. They will walk you through some therapies and treatments that will greatly strengthen your ability to deal with urges and put your addiction in perspective.

Also, I have to ask, do you think that promising to kill yourself will be any less effective than less lethal promises, such as telling yourself to post on all your social media accounts that you are a porn addict if you relapse? If you haven't tried this approach yet, I would consider it. I think the amount of motivation resulting from your promise would be the same.

I hope some of this helps. I've been through tough times, and I am still here. Persevere, and it will make you a stronger person. Please keep us updated on your journey, and please seriously consider my suggestions.

I understand your desperation, I really do. Just consider this, though. You have been trying to defeat this alone. You have only been on the site a matter of hours. Give yourself chance to take advantage of the many resources here. Most of them are in the form of peer support. There are others that feel just as bad as you, so you will experience solidarity and empathy.

Do not make an ultimatum that leaves you with this one option to take your life. What you really want is for the pain of this addiction to stop. Please understand that an occasional relapse is part of recovery. To repeat: you will have much more chance to progress if you get involved in this community and allow others to guide you and encourage you.
