Well, I think its all how you feel. If masturbation negatively affects you then stop. I personally don't masturbate cause I feel I have more energy.

Porn however is horrible for your brain, as many researchers have shown such as YBOP and NoFap - also the website is called "NoFap" haha

But seriously, I cant stress enough how the combination of Porn and Masturbation (PMO) WILL make you a desensitize zombie eventually.
I do think its better not to masturbate, you should be getting real sex instead.

I can but don't have time. That's why to me it is researched by you (in your case Google) keep your opinion with yourself and don't generalise. If you think it's good, it's good for you. All the best

Medical science universally has debunked every myth this guy presented. . . all of them. Why on Earth would it be important to you to try to perpetuate them . . . we all have other reasons to quit without believing old wive's tales about going blind or stunting your growth. LMAO. This guy presented nothing but his opinion. There is no research to be found on his claims because their simply not true.

OP is nuts. Given the statistics on the frequency of male masturbation in my country (the US), all you have to do is look at the people around you to see that this is not true.

40% of men admit to masturbating DAILY. Even if we don't conjecture about the number of men who lied on the survey, far less than 40% of men display these symptoms. I can't post a link to the survey because I'm too new a member, but you can look for it on a website called "Statistics Brain."

As Dr. J has pointed out, regular ejaculation is healthy, and your physical health doesn't know the difference between sex and masturbation. People may have important psychological or religious reasons not to masturbate, but only extremely frequent masturbation has any serious effects on physical health, and they are identical to those that can occur with sex (minus VDs) except that, depending on your "technique," you may experience more damage to the skin when masturbating.

So, are you ready to recommend that the whole human race swears off sex? I can spot at least one major flaw with this course of action...

In my case, I have RSI from too much typing with poor posture, and any kind of repetitive action with my hands can also trigger pain, but I don't think this is a frequent problem for people who haven't already injured themselves in another way. (damn you, typeracer!)

If you jack off (esp with porn) everyday then your eventually ganna get desensitized and become bored.
And there is a difference between real sex and masturbation. Lol you can't tell me that jacking off feels better than getting a blowjob or pussy. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Sex-is-four-times-better-than-masturbation-18591.shtml

Also there 's the "death grip" with masturbation

Did you even read this article? In the end it basically said that sex releases four times the amount of some chemical associated with ED than masturbation. Listen, I'm not suggesting than anyone here should masturbate or that anyone ever should look at porn -- and I'm definitely not saying that any of it is more satisfying than sex; all I'm saying is that the OP is full of it, and that masturbation is physiologically similar to sex, though, as you point out, it releases four times less of a chemical that is linked with ED than sex does.

It depends on your definition of "regular" and also on what health benefits you are talking about. Your body produces it anyway, so nutrients are sat in your sack. I don't think masturbation is inherently bad, and I think alot of people on here will agree with me, but masturbating to excess coupled with the psychological impacts of pornography. Well thats a different story.

These people are like recovering alcoholics who think that nobody should drink ever. Just because we here have a problem doesn't mean we can rewrite science!

On a personal note, my father died of an extremely aggressive form of prostate cancer at the age of 50 (!), so as someone in an elevated risk group, while I might go off masturbation for reboot periods, I generally consider it as one of the things I do to take care of my prostate, though I'm sure I could stand to do it less than I've been used to.

This makes something else occur to me. It's like the old argument for becoming a Christian, the avoidance of Hell. . . which is a horseshit reason! Who would love a Father who looked you in the eye and said "if you don't love me son, and surrender your entire will to me in all matters, I'm going to torture you without letting up FOR ETERNITY. Well you'd be scared shitless, but certainly start submitting immediately. So threads like this, and false arguments, make the same feeble attempt to scare people out of PMO with a bunch of reasons to be afraid. And when you know they're false, then the only reason to quit is that you're a slave and you know you're a slave, and you love and care about yourself too much to be kept in such a condition. Freedom from P (or MO) begins with a vision.... a vision of a wonderful life out there on the horizon, waiting for you to seize it, as soon as you give up your false idols.

LOL! Yeah, like Nazareth said: "love hurts". . . .but no reason to make the entire human race disappear because of it.

I'm a recovering alcoholic and this is spot on. Other people don't have the disease I have and they can enjoy drinking whenever they want. I envy them, and also understand their easy going approach to balance with drinking, but it will never work for me. If I picked up one drink I'd be right back in the pig pen in about an hour. I never bug anybody about drinking . . . .to each his own.

Amen. I agree with you. PMO messes you up but it won't make you taller or whatever. Heck I even disagree that it makes you social awkward. I think many people on here have other problems before PMOing.

Just ridiculous, without any scientific evidence whatsoever.

It reminds me of that episode of King of the Hill where Bill "finds out" he had experiments performed on him, then he blames the experiments for all the bad things that have occurred to him in the last like 20 years or whatever, to find out that he didn't actually have any experiments done on him and that all the problems where simply his own doing (well him and genetics and other people and stuff).

My point is that you shouldn't blame all of your issues on porn, or masturbation, or anything for that matter. Most of our issues are our own damn fault, lets not just use a "boogeyman" as a nail for us all to hammer into a coffin.

@melancholy king very well said! I am the worst at blaming all my problems on pmo, since the time period when I pmo'd regularly links up to when I noticed all of my problems, so it's easy to blame it on the act of engaging in pmo. I need to man up and realize that it was my choice to pmo, just like it's my choice to over-eat, not ask a girl who shows interest in me out, or to hold myself back from job promotions because of certain reasons (last one was because I was afraid to work that close to the manager; forget that, I needed to do it for my own well being!).

Being addicted to pmo made it hard to quit (hell I didn't know it was an addiction until learning about nofap and finding out the hard way that quitting would be a long process), but now that I know it's toxic for us to engage in I'm no longer going to use it as a crutch when I feel bad emotionally. Time to man up like many generations before us and do the right thing.

I wouldn't say "man up", as thru this journey, you'll become a better person certainly, but you are already a man. Doing the right thing is not always easy.
But if I look back, (dont want to blam it all on PMO) maybe my lack of self-confidence was partly caused by PMO. I'll see if I notice changes in the next few months!

I'm 100% sure my confidence issues stem from pmo and isolating myself. When I had the dark secret of pmoing alone whenever I could get free from everyone else, holding onto a stash of dvds and hard drives with downloaded content, it felt like I couldn't talk to anyone because I always had porn on my mind and fuck man, you can't talk about porn in social settings. It's like I was Gollum or something haha.

That's by far my biggest regret about going as far into pmo as I did, hording so much content and keeping it hidden from everyone, especially my mother. She would be devastated if she learned about that habit. But even though I use the word regret, I don't let it bother me, I just wished that that wasn't a part of my past. But at least now I am free from it and no longer have that part of my life that I have to hide from everyone anymore.

You shouldn't masturbate from now on in order to channel your masculine energy into a loving relationship with a woman. And as for the scare about prostrate cancer, wouldn't wet dreams take care of that? Sounds just like a respectable scientific excuse to indulge.

    Just my 2 cents worth.
